Brucedragon is very easy and you don't need to stay in Miami, you can pay online, I did it today. The results will be send to your mdc email. Good luck!

hello, everyone congrats!!!!!!!! to those who got in. i am in the same boat as the ones waiting for

that yellow envelope. i will keep you guys updated when i recieve my yellow envelope. it seems like this

year it was very tough because the cut off may have 3.8 according to the post. luckily. i also applied to the bcc nursing program and the requirements are more flexible. hopefully i get in to at least one. :anbd::yldhdbng:

BRUCEDRAGON: when you go to the website on the handout, you can select pay at bursar's office and you will be able to select your appt. day and time. I chose my appt. the night before I went in to bursar's office to pay. However, you will need to pay prior to fingerprinting b/c they will need to see the receipt. Yes it is just basic electronic fingerprinting. When complete, they give you a form telling you that results are emailed to your student account in 7 days; however, I rec'v mines yesterday which was only 24 hours after. Nothing that you have to stay overnight for! :nurse:

Hi Everyone... Congratulations to ALL!! I was accepted to the Transitional Full-Time RN program...Anyone else in the Transitional :nurse: Program??

If you have not received a letter and you believe your GPA was good enough, I suggest you call or go to the school... I have a friend RN which was originally rejected with a 3.9 and later spoke to someone with a lower GPA which was accepted, she was devastated and went to the school where she spoke to the dean of the program he appologized and said it was a mistake:mad: they were suppose to send her an acceptance letter....(she was in the program)

So don't give up....

Alot of my classmates have begun receiving their acceptance letters for MDC. According to them, the cut off for Fall 09 was 3.8! OMG!!!

Now I am second guessing myself because I have a 4.0 in my prerequisites, but not in my undergrad Bachelors degree. Does anyone know if Miami Dade calculates incoming transfer students as starting off with a 4.0 if you have a bachelors already? I had a 3.6 in my bachelors and now I am afraid that i might not get in...even though my degree audit says i have a 4.0....

AHHHHHH! (And congrats to those of you that got in!)

I am sitting here reading all of your posts (when I should be studying for my CHem test on Sun)...but I am so happy to hear that many of you got in! And to those of you that have heard NOTHING yet...LETS PRAY TOGETHER that we hear soon (before we go nuts)...and to those of you that will not be entering MDC in the fall, dont give up! You guys give ALL of us so much hope! Its our persistance and dedication that will make us ALL GREAT nurses...

Teech2Nurse: They do take certain science/math courses from your bachelors degree; however, if your degree audit states 4.0 three times straight down, then that means you have a 4.0. If you do in fact have a 4.0 with all of your prereqs complete, you should have rec'v your letter by last week. I was in the first batch with a 4.0 and mines was dated Tuesday and got it in the mail by Wed. If you do meet the above criteria then you need to call b/c either they did not enter your application in the system or some mixup transpired by mail. I won't ask how far you live b/c brucedragon lives in Tampa and he even rec'v his acceptance letter! Keep the Faith!

Thank u so much Mommy's Girl...my dilemma is that I just moved (last month) and the address they sent it to was my previous home...when I found out people were receiving their letters I checked my address on file and CHANGED it immediately. I am hoping if I call someone will answer my questions (but it doesnt sound too hopeful after reading previous posts)...hopefully I will receive something this week since I did forward my mail when I moved...

Hi everyone and Congrats to the 1st batch of students that are in! Those, still waiting hang in there for there will be some spots sooner or later.

I started a thread for those that are in for this Fall 2009 regardless of option in preparation for whats to come.

I highly recommend for those below the 3.8 GPA to consider applying for BCC. They have some good things MDC doesn't. Even, if you don't get in they will place you on a waiting list which MDC does not! I have read very low GPA's like 3.2 get in even if its a year waiting on that list they still get in.

Also, BCC does not do exit exams each semester like MDC. Uniforms are nicer but you cannot use calculators. Also, if you have to repeat something it's a mission where as MDC its user friendly.

I say this cause I must have read so many posts on a debate over MDC vs BCC. Also, BCC has a higher % of passing the Board NCLEX, if only by a few %points but MDC has a much higher # of students overall passing.

I take no sides, i'm just sharing what I've read.

In conclusion, BCC is easier to get in in the long run.

GUYS it's a NEW WEEK !!!!!!!!!!!!! Let's PRAY We get something this week so we can stop having ANXIETY ATTACKS and move forward even if it's bad news. We are gonna either jump for joy or dust ourselves off and get back up :)

I applied to both nursing programs Broward college and Miami Dade. I already check my e-mail this morning and nothing :cry: but that is okay I an not loosing hope just like everyone should. Like 30NCN said lets hope we get something this week and keep a positive mind.
