I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.
Thanks for your interest!
i'm even scared for me and i am barely half way with my pre-reqs... i am going to start looking at other schools too. guys don't worry, she told me that if my gpa ever went too low, to just take an extra class to boost my gpa, we could all do that. it might only get tougher bc people seem to be changing to nursing a whole lot... :/ im even thinking of taking a nutrition or bio class to help me... this is crazy
well she told me that the lowest was 3.8... and that usually it was 3.5, but this yr was CRAZY with 1200 applying just for generic. BUUUUT she said that maybe people will drop before they start so that might give space for other people. :s
Wow, thats is crazy. I was told the same except I was told of older standards of 3.5 and I heard also about the 100 openings also. It makes sense since all who have received good news have a 3.8 and above.
But most important like you said it only the "First batch" plus those that will reject will open up spaces and minimum gpa will have to drop.
Btw, what GPA are u at?
Also, an easy 3 credit class to get automatic A is any SLS class. Not a requirement but a gpa booster and super easy.
Yeah I am not gonna check the mailbox anymore or drive my family crazy I am just going to wait (even if it kills me) but I will proceed with Plan B if A fails ...........We still need drinks 2 for 1 even if we dont get in........................Never stressed like this before over school wowwwwwww this is to prepare you for nursing school ...................Pre NURSING Anxiety
Okay guys...she's right. I went to the medical campus as well. I was told that the lowest GPA was 3.8 for accelerated and generic. 3.8!!! That is so crazy!! Plus when i got home i found my rejection letter in the mailbox. I have a 3.58...guess it wasn't good enough. I'll just send the roll-over form for next semester.
