Any Miami Dade College students going for the acceler. or Generic option fall 2009?

I am currently at Miami Dade College fulfilling prerequisites in order to apply for the Nursing program that starts fall 2009. I'd like to be in touch with other career changers who after getting a bachelor's in a non-nursing field decided to pursue the program at Miami Dade College.

I just can't believe that every over 3.5 got in they dont have enough spots
Well, it could be true for the Full-Time Generic option. I heard it was about 100 slots starting at 3.5

However, for other options like Part-Time it could be a lot higher GPA and prob. half those spots. I only found out about Full time Generic, the rest is just a guesstimate if u will.

Keep in mind, 3.5 is an A. In the past as low as 3.0 have gotten in. So with the budget cuts, they could have simply said, 'lets just allow A students this time around'.

Hey you guys, I went home yesterday and checked my mailbox! I got my acceptances into both the Accelerated and Generic Programs! Wooo hoooo! I'll most likely turn down the Accelerated Option, so if any onf you have freinds who are still waiting after all the acceptance letters have been mailed out, let them know there's still one more spot available. Good luck to the rest of you and I hope to meet you guys come fall...or orientation!

I really believe the receptionist don't know anything, b/c I just went in to pay my deposit after I took my drug test and even the receptionist was staring at me in shock or something. The other students were asking questions. A girl was there who is still waiting on her letter with a 3.78 gpa. So don't loose hope guys! Gluck:loveya:

I have a ? 4 u. You did not apply for both part-time and full time just in case part time was a no go? I think I read somewhere u work in the mornings so u can only do part time. I checked both months ago just in case. Now I finally have chosen full time.

It's crazy cause your GPA should make the cut for full time, is there anyway you can still select full time, or am I reaching?

That wasn't me that was RMO1809 (i think) but he/she did the right thing no one ever told me to do that. :( I know i can't go full time i am single mom with two kids and a full time job that pays well for now but i want a change in careers.......

well she told me that the lowest was 3.8... and that usually it was 3.5, but this yr was CRAZY with 1200 applying just for generic. BUUUUT she said that maybe people will drop before they start so that might give space for other people. :s
