I'm going to take my NCLEX for the second time on Wednesday and I was just wondering if anybody has any last minute advice or bits of information that they thought were keys to their success. I've been studying quite a bit but I still find myself super nervous. Thanks.

Believe in your knowledge. Know you are going to see a pass, and that the test won't be as hard as you imagined it. Go out the night of the test and do something fun as a reward for all your hard work.
As you sit down - and before starting the test, don't sit down with 100 things running through your mind. Take a deep breath and just begin. Most of all, simply NEVER read into a question. If it says you find both a stabbing victim and a heart attack victim in a parking lot, which one do you go to first. Do not read into the question that the person is bleeding (when it doesn't say they are, simply saying they are a stabbing victim) *this is NOT a test question - it is the only way I could think of to word it so you understand not to read deeper than the information that is given* Most often this is the case in these questions is you read into them - expecting that the person was stabbed in the heart or carotid artery and is bleeding when in fact it doesn't even say they are bleeding.
ABC's and Maslows are very important - in fact one of the most important things to know.
Other than that, just believe in yourself. I didn't study at all for NCLEX and I employeed these methods I just described to you and I passed with 83 questions. Good Luck!

Take a deep breath... forget the past and make sure you study priorities and Ob/peds somewhat...it seems to be what i got mostly. I just took the test sept 14th and passed with 75 questions. Our University requires passing a "mock NCLEX" which gives a diagnostic printout at the end to let you know what areas you are weak and strong in. If you have access to one of those types of diagnostic tests (such as the one in the Kaplan review book you can buy at Barnes and Noble) it will help you to focus on the areas that you need the most help in. There are some NCLEX review books that allow you to create and customize your own exams based on the areas you are weak in. I suggest studying those areas and becoming comfortable there.
Good luck and remember to forget the past and know that you are going to pass!
Thanks for all of the advice! I appreciate all of the help and positive words. It is easy to get discouraged when you have already taken it once but I am hoping this time will be my lucky number 2. I've studied a little different and tried to focus on more of my weaknesses. I will try to relax and not overthink questions (I think that might have been one of my downfalls the first time!) Thanks again!!!
I am open to any advice and key ideas so keep them coming!!!

Tuesday night- DO NOT STUDY
Resist the urge to cram. matter of fact, give your books to someone and make them promise not to give 'em back until AFTER you test LOL
Do your best to relax go out for dinner with a friend (do NOT talk about the "BIG TEST"), then take a hot bubble bath and read a book in the tub.
Get a good night's sleep- and I'd suggest no alcohol/no sleep "aids" like benedryl-- you'll feel dragged out
You know your stuff. Trust yourself
You'll do fine

Take a deep breath before starting your test. Do not waste time on anything else besides the test because you have done the test before and you know what to do or you already know the content of the introduction part. Besides, part of it counts towards your exam time anyway. Do not start your exam by writing anything on the white board unless it is related to the question from the test because this will increase your anxiety if you forget any of the e.g. lab values e.t.c,. Take each question very serious (whether there is any obvious answer or not, before hiting the next button). Make sure you read the questions more than once and understand why the answer you picked is the perfect answer to the question. DO NOT PUNIC OR RUSH if the test does not stop at 75 questions. It is very important that you maintain the same pace and calmness when answering each question. If you feel stressed and lose concentration at any number during the test, please take a break, take a deep breath, stretch your neck, and take a drink of something cold. Lastly but not the least, tell yourself you are passing. Good luck.
