Failed AANP today
I passed! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. I was quite nervous and I'm just glad it is over and the studying that had overtaken my life is complete!!!

Failed AANP today
Sorry about the mix-up with the email. I just clicked on the little envelope at the top of the page and it allowed me to email you. I'll have to see if I have some setting blocked or something. Thanks for the info. I was a little frustrated at the info I received regarding my scores, really didn't provide any help at all. I too did only the Fitz review the first time and I have broadened my studies this time. I am hoping I can use the baseline knowledge I established for the first exam and by adding some new stuff, make up that difference into a passing score. Thanks again for the info.

Failed AANP today
Not yet, I have my exam on Monday. Getting to the "very stressed" stage of my studies. I know the best thing to do is relax but that is much easier said than done at this point.

Failed AANP today
By my math, if there are 135 questions worth a total of 800 points, each one (on average) is worth anywhere from 4-6 points. Looks like we were both only just a FEW questions away!!!! As I've said, on one hand encouraging but on another very frustrating that we have to go through this all over again for 3 stupid questions!!!!

Failed AANP today
When I received the paperwork I found out I was 13 points away from passing, encouraging for next time but still frustrating I was THAT close and still have to go through the whole process over again!!!

Failed AANP today
I mailed all my info in 2 days later, I did not wait for the letter in the mail (came about 10 days after taking my test). I would also say from my experience, don't worry about what "areas" your CEs are in, as long as you do the required amount, you will be fine!

Failed AANP today
One more thing, for those wanting to retest ASAP through AANP, I did all my CEs the very next day and mailed them off to AANP. I received my authorization number approximately 3-3.5 weeks later so it is possible to retest fairly quick if that is your goal. I have mine scheduled approximately one month after my previous test. Don't want to risk forgetting anything that is still left in my brain!!!

Failed AANP today
After clearing my head a little I think my biggest mistake, or expectation, was that there would be more questions on the more common disorders such as diabetes, chf, pneumonia, asthma, etc. Overall I felt they did not give more questions to the common disorders, this round I'm looking more at "other" disorders and not focusing so much on the more common illnesses. I don't want to say too much but that was my general feeling of why I felt somewhat unprepared after studying for what I considered was a substantial amount of time. Anybody can email me if you have any other thoughts or questions. I'm retaking the test next Monday, hoping this one will go better!!!!!! I'm thinking of all of you who are in the same spot as me, good luck to all!!!!

Failed AANP today
I figured it may be easier to stick with the same test once you've taken it once with the hope that I have a small advantage because I've already seen it once. At least I have some type of idea of what they are looking for. Some of the questions seemed so random though I'm not quite sure how I can adequately prepare for the next time. Plus the school I went to is awful at following through with sending transcripts, I might be waiting longer if I jump ship and apply for the ANCC. Any wise advice from those fortunate ones who have passed their certification exam?? One day I'm sure I will get there!!!

Failed AANP today
So I just failed my AANP cert. exam today. I am wanting to get the CE's done ASAP and reapply as soon as I can. When I looked on the AANP website, it said the CE's have to be done in your area of weakness, did everybody else wait for that letter (says it can take 4-5 weeks) or can I just do any CE's and submit those with my recertification application? Thanks for the advice.

I'm a new nurse who needs help
That is why I love this forum. Thank you very much for your input. I did not get that kind of explanation anywhere I looked online (I don't know where I put my drug book so I couldn't look it up). Thanks again.

I'm a new nurse who needs help
I've been working in the ICU for about 3 weeks (just out of nursing school) and I had a patient today who had a GI bleed and hepatic encepalopathy. Pt. was getting Sandostatin and the only effects I have found for that med is that it inhibits growth hormone and insulin, neither of which relate to my patient. Is there some other reason my patient would be getting this that I am not finding? Thanks.

California Results
So I haven't seen any results yet. I took the test on Wednesday. I have all of my stuff in to the board. You have really heard of people not seeing their name on the website for up to a week?? I sure hope so because I am feeling a little discouraged. I thought since this would be a slow time of year I would see my name there in just a couple days.

California Results
I don't know what the board's policy is about when they get the results on the net. I've heard of people getting their results online in a couple days and I've heard of it taking a week to see your name online. I would think it is not safe to say you failed if you don't see your name on the website in only a couple days. Like I said, I've heard of people taking a week or so to see their results on the website. Good luck!!!

I just took the test yesterday, stopped at 85 so I'm a little nervous because I am scared I didn't do well enough to stop that early!!! I agree, the waiting is KILLING ME!!!!!!!
