Any Johns Hopkins (JHU) BSN/MSN 2008 applicants?

Published

Yes, we're a few months away from applications for the Accelerated BSN track, but I thought I'd see if anyone else was applying for the BSN/MSN (or just BSN portion) at Johns Hopkins, 2008? JHU is my first choice, but I'm also applying to Columbia, Mount St. Marys College (Los Angeles, BSN only) and Oregon Health & Science University.

I'm nervous as I haven't visited the school yet although the Admissions Officers have been very helpful, answering all of my endless questions via email and phone. I'm taking the GRE in October and I have one shot to get it done and get my scores sent off by the Accelerated track early decision deadline, November 1st. I've spoken to some JHU Nursing Alums via allnurses as well and they've been super helpful with my questions as well (thanks!).

How would I pay for it...? Who really knows...

Hi, all. I just wanted to let people know that I received a call today from Johns Hopkins regarding whether I was accepted. I applied for the Accelerated BSN program (13.5 months) (non-early decision). So, they are letting people know now. Best to you all.

oooh! that makes me nervous. I think last year people found out around different times depending on which cycle their application was in. Just curious, when did you have your interview?

My interview is actually scheduled to be this Friday (so after I got the call about whether I got in). For the Accelerated BSN program, I believe that the interview is optional, and that if you want one, you have to call in to the Admissions Office to schedule it.

my friend applied for FNP (bs to msn program) and she just got a call a day ago confirming her acceptance. she interviewed on dec 12.

i applied for acnp (bs to msn) and interviewed on dec 10 but have not gotten any calls yet. don't know if i should take this to mean i probably didn't get in or not. =( good luck to all!

AAAAAAAAHHH :w00t:

I'M IN!!! Just received the call. I am so thrilled. My hands are still shaking. Anyone else have good news? For those still waiting, don't give up yet. I hope you guys have good news too!

Congrats!!! That's wonderful news!

Which program did you apply to?

Thank you! I applied for the BS/MSN program(FNP). I am glad to be in, but it's so hard now because I have to make a decision( I applied to other schools in CA as well that I have upcoming interviews for). eek!

I know, it's so hard to choose. Good luck and keep us posted! At least having one acceptance should offer some relief! :)

Congratulations to all the good news!

I'm getting a little worried now...I interviewed November 19th 2007 and still haven't heard back from JHU. Does this mean rejection? does anyone know the time frame of notifications to the applicants? I want to call the admissions office, but I don't know if it's appropriate to ask whether letters or calls are still going out.

hmmm so it looks like that's 2 people who got calls for FNP... maybe jhs really does have different times/dates for notifying applicants of their acceptance based on the specialty? fingers crossed!

Hey all, congratulations to all who had received acceptances since I last visited this thread! I just wanted to ask you to keep your fingers crossed for me. I submitted a request for application reconsideration and Mary had stated the admissions committee is meeting for another round of decisions this week. Hopefully my follow-up letter will sway someone over there! :uhoh21:

Hello. Does anyone know what day the committee will be meeting? I hear they are still taking applications. I don't know if that is a good thing or not. Everyone please post when you hear. Good Luck.
