Any Johns Hopkins (JHU) BSN/MSN 2008 applicants?

Published

Yes, we're a few months away from applications for the Accelerated BSN track, but I thought I'd see if anyone else was applying for the BSN/MSN (or just BSN portion) at Johns Hopkins, 2008? JHU is my first choice, but I'm also applying to Columbia, Mount St. Marys College (Los Angeles, BSN only) and Oregon Health & Science University.

I'm nervous as I haven't visited the school yet although the Admissions Officers have been very helpful, answering all of my endless questions via email and phone. I'm taking the GRE in October and I have one shot to get it done and get my scores sent off by the Accelerated track early decision deadline, November 1st. I've spoken to some JHU Nursing Alums via allnurses as well and they've been super helpful with my questions as well (thanks!).

How would I pay for it...? Who really knows...

I certainly will cross my fingers for everyone else!! I hope lots of us will be in classes together!!!

Congrats tamalama!!!

:balloons::cheers::balloons:

You're definitely going right?? I hope we have classes together! What specialty are you?

Joey86, I interviewed on November 14th.

Good luck everyone!!!

Actually, I'm not in the BSN/MSN program...I am just traditional BSN. Do you think we might still have classes together? I'm so excited!!

Well guys, I didn't get a phone call, but instead the dreaded letter arrived yesterday. I didn't get accepted, but I am thinking about phoning Mary and inquiring about the possibility for reconsideration. (I know of one candidate who asked to be reconsidered and was offered admission later).

But congratulations to everyone who made it! Now I have to wait on my other two apps! ;)

Sorry Asherah, but all will work out in the end, it's not the end of the world, right? Where are your other applications? I haven't received letter nor phone call yet...sorta eager to get to the end of the waiting. I applied to only one other school, Univ. of Rochester (where I am originally from, actually). Haven't heard one way or the other from them either. Talk about limbo...

I also applied to Columbia ETP and an ABSN program here in Los Angeles (Mount St. Mary's College). I may also apply to Samuel Merritt College later this spring as well. I live in SoCal and the letter was postmarked on Dec 5th, the same day that the acceptance phone calls began I believe.

I see. They probably waited to send mine out until after I had my interview on the 6th. lol. I wonder what the mail will hold for me tomorrow!

For those of you who have heard back from JHU,

Did you guys apply for early admissions? I had my interview Nov. 19th, and was told that I probably wouldn't hear back until Jan/Feb.

I think Jan/Feb is when you find out for regular decision, UTexas and I heard back already because we applied for early decision. I can't wait to hear if you got in too!! Please post and let us know in Jan/Feb!!! Good Luck! How did your interview go?

Hey Ash...I'm really sorry you didnt get in. Did you call yet to see if you can ask for reconsideration?? Maybe if you do it soon enough, they will reconsider you for this round? did they even give a reason why you werent selected or was it just some generic letter? Please keep us posted on what they say when you request reconsideration!

Tamalama,

Well I may write inquring about that ability to petition for reconsideration (although I know that usually takes place the following spring, if there are remaining spots left to fill). Either way, I'd like to speak to Mary O'Rourke regarding my application and determine my weaknesses and potential areas for improvement if I have to apply again (I still have two schools to hear from.) We'll see, but I'm not going to pursue anything until my finals are done this week and I can get all of my ducks in a row, so to speak.

Good luck for the rest of you who are waiting! ;)
