Please post your experience as well, I am kind of worry  about my TOEFL exam.

thanks

i passed nclex-rn 04/07 and im plannint to take ielts this june.

all the best , which state did apply to work ,

If you're planing to take the TOEFL, get the TOEFL iBT exam since it already integrates all the four parts -- reading, listening, speaking and writing. I don't know about UAE or other countries, but in the Phils. the TOEFL iBT is the only exam being offered. The other TOEFL exams have been phased out.

The ETS official guide to TOEFL iBT and Barron's TOEFL iBT book are both very useful. Based on my experience, you'll need at least a month to prepare for the exam. Practice a lot using the computer. It would be best if you can get a coach to give you feedback especially in the speaking part.

The speaking part is the most difficult in the exam because of the time pressure. In one exercise, you'll be made to summarize a conversation, recommend a course of action, and explain why you made that recommendation--not very easy if you're not fluent in English because you only have 30 seconds to prepare your answer and 60 seconds to say everything. And that's just one exercise. The entire exam is about 4 to 5 hours, with a 10-minute break, so it's not only tiring mentally, but physically exhausting as well.

yes we do have the Toefl IBT over here and IELTS exam as well but i will have to take one of them if i had the luck to pass the Nclex exam since that i will get the enough practise for that ,

The NCLEX-RN exam is only for working in the US. It is not a licensing exam for any other country. So it is not required to be done before graduation for your program.

Suggest that you read the sticky called the "Primer" at the top of this forum. There is information up there that you need to know.

I think nursing in the US is somewhat diff. from any given country outside their's , whether it be socio-economic status, training, expected responsibilities, etc..

Their standard is really way above from any given country.

 I agree with that , each country has different policies from others , and you have to be serious toward your job and even each state has its own political rule , so when you plan work a broad to any of the state you will have to know the requisites and the requirements need to be qualified to work to live there :specs:,

Hi everyone! I am already a permanent resident in the US.. I live in Wisconsin.. The state requires TOEFL iBT & CES before you can take the NCLEX-RN/LPN.. I took the TOEFL already and exceeded the total score. I got 96, but the problem is I only got 23 for the speaking part.. =( I read that you can still use the total score only if you are active in the Certification Program.. is that true? Or should I retake the TOEFL? another $170 again!grrrr.. It's actually my fault I did not do any reviews.. I just took the exam and hoped for the best...any pieces of advice anyone?
