Any Fall 2008 UCLA - MECN Program Applicants out there?

Published

Are any of you starting to get anxious about the forthcoming decisions? We have another month or so yet to know, but I still want to know NOW! :innerconf ... Wanna share in the waiting process? Have you heard anything about the # of people they are accepting? Anything?

yea same thing for me when i checked... i wonder if that's a bad sign...?...

No, I don't think that's a bad sign. I wouldn't worry about it. Just try to wait it out, it's only a few more days!! :) We've waited since Dec 1st at least!

It'll probably say that no decision has been made and allows you to view what documents were missing (which, the SON already sent us those letters a while back near Christmas time). Other than that, it didn't tell me anything new.

Just be patient as the SON must handle and mail all decision letters before the week ends. Check your inbox for e-mails and do check the site for your decision status. My letter does not say when I need to accept or decline my Statement of Intent on URSA, so if anyone has info on that, please share with me. I am still waiting to hear from other schools.

I did not receive anything in the mail today. My letter must not have gone out yesterday, b/c I live so close it only takes a day. All that anxiety for naught. And to be repeated tomorrow!

by the way, i'm guessing that the only people whose online application profiles have been updated are those who received fellowships. i have been told that very few people received the email notice (that directs you to the graduate site) last year as well.

This is crazy huh?!

I can hardly focus at work...BRUTAL!

At least we have eachother:cheers:

Hang in there everyone!!!

hi, everyone! i'm new here. i started this account a few min ago because i was going out of my mind. i can't sit still! glad to see i'm not the only one...

have any of you heard what the class and clinical schedule is like once in the program? i'm wondering how many times per week clinicals are, and at what point they start in the program? someone posted that the classes are a lot of theory at first. does that mean that there are no clinicals in the beginning? unfortunately, i never went to an open house so i feel a little detached from the actual structure of the program.

I was on my way driving from school to my chorus rehearsal and had to make a special detour to check my mail. Nothing. It looks like the letters did not leave the mailroom yesterday afternoon. This is really maddening. At least I received somewhat good news. I have been invited to interview for a spot in CSU Fullertons EL-MSN program.

Hello NSFA08,

Theory classes are held twice a week and clinicals are held twice a week. This will vary according to which area (maternity ward, psych ward, etc.) we'll be in. I did not go to the orientation but from reading some of the posts, we'll be learning theory during the first two quarters. Starting in the spring quarter, we'll be in the hospital caring for our patients. Even though we'll be doing theory during our first two quarters, our professors will teach us how to inject medications, make the patient's beds, etc.

SON wants us to know the concepts and theories before we start working with the patients. Since nursing is a dynamic profession, SON does plan to change the structure of its curriculum which is why you don't see the curriculum of the PhD, MS, and MECN students on their website.

I wish everyone on receiving good news from SON. :lol2: :nuke:

another day to wait. nothing in the mail today. grrrrrrrrr....

nothing here either. i wish i could just power down and hibernate until the answer arrives...this daily anticipation is too maddening!
