Any Everest Institute lpn graduates out there?

U.S.A. Michigan

Hello! Are there any Everest Institute (Southfield Mi) grads out there? I am starting the lpn program May 11th :yeah:and I am looking to get some insight on how the program is and what to expect. I did speak to some people currently in the program while I was on campus and I heard positive feedback, but it wasn't like a one on one conversation just casual talk while I was being taken on a tour of the campus by an adviser. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. Any advice out there? :plsebeg:

Oh thank you for brightening my night...I will let you know the outcome!!!

:)

Hii Hopesgramcracker

I got the call this week from Everest and have been accepted to start the LPN program in January...YAY

How are things coming along for you?

Just wanted to give you the update

:clpty: Doodles, congratulations! I will be one of your classmates at Everest!

Congrats to both of you!! Just make sure you have all your backup plans (babysitter, transportation etc) in line because if it might happen, it will at some point. I will be starting level III in Jan. I will come by to meet you guys when you start. See you soon!!!!!!:yeah:

Hey I got accepted in the program also to start in Jan. Looking forward but a little nervous at the same time . Is this for the southfield, campus

Hi everyone!! I got excepted too. I cant wait to start!!! Has everyone gotten their immunization records and titers (if needed)? Orientation is in less than a week. Oh by the way...yes the program is at the Southfield campus....8 mile and Lasher. :-)

R u all liking the program so far? Thinking about applying for the the fall 2010 program? Let me know ladies! Also, how much exactly did u pay?

Hello BrittanyRae, I just finished the program was pinned on Friday. We were charged 29K for the program. All I can say is I am glad it is over and I am out of there! Good Luck to you.

When you say you are glad that its over and to be out of there does that mean that you didn't enjoy it or it was just a rigourous schedule? Do they help you with employment following finishing?? I am considering doing the program because I definitely don't want to be waiting years before starting an RN program. I won't be able to start applying to RN programs until January 2011 so have been thinking maybe I will go the LPN route and then take the bridge program for RN.do you all get to do clinicals like an RN?? How were clinicals? Where did you all do them at? Because I would have to live off loans for that time period since I will have to drastically cut my hours do u get refund checks there?? Sorry for all the questions!!

Also meant to ask what are the hours like??

I chose to go this route for the same reason. The clinicals were good, I had great clinical instructors. As far as living off loans, the tuition will absorb any and all financial aid that is awarded to you, I was hoping the same when I applied but you are only given enough to cover tuition, unless you have other means to borrow from. They do have job placement as well. The hours are scheduled from 8-5 pm for lecture days and from 7-3 for clinicals. There were many days we got to leave early. My honest opininion about that particular program is the program would do well if they weren't so disorganized (meaning things change minute by minute) and there are too many ego's floating around there. If you can get past that and just focus on getting through it, you are good to go. I don't want to discourage anyone who wants to be a nurse just be prepared for anything. And yes it is true some nurses eat their young.

Congrats on graduating! Did u like the program?!? Did u get any kind of financial aide while doing it?!? Also, what r ur pro's and con's of the program?
