Any Everest Institute lpn graduates out there?

U.S.A. Michigan

Hello! Are there any Everest Institute (Southfield Mi) grads out there? I am starting the lpn program May 11th :yeah:and I am looking to get some insight on how the program is and what to expect. I did speak to some people currently in the program while I was on campus and I heard positive feedback, but it wasn't like a one on one conversation just casual talk while I was being taken on a tour of the campus by an adviser. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. Any advice out there? :plsebeg:

MsAshley - More than likely, if you pass the entrance testing and your drug and background check comes back ok, you will get in. I am in the part-time program which is in the evening. I will be finishing up level 2 in a few weeks. I really like the program so far. It is definitely a lot of work, but it is worth it. What else you like to know?

Thanks so much for responding!! I've passed the entrance exam and have done my packaging for financial aid so I'm thinking im in!! I was wondering how is the load there? Is there a lot of homework? Does class always last until 10?? Are you working while in the program? Im going to be working while in the program. Overall how do you like it?? Anything that you can tell me would be great!! Thanks so much!!

Ms.Ashley, have you started the program yet? Are you going full time or part time? How do you like it? How is the work load? Do you like it? I start in may and i wonder how everything is. I have tried to find anyone who has graduated to tel me how it is.

Hi Phirstlady I'm sorry I won't be able to be any help for you regarding Everest. About a week before I started Everest's program I got a call from the ITT Tech RN program that I had been waiting on saying that I got accepted! I immediately withdrew from everest and I start at ITT tech this week. I wish you the best of luck with Everest and hopefully you can find someone to answer your questions!!

Thanks an congrats. I applied at ITT aswell but she told me the next open class is sept. So I guess ill wait and see on that. Congrats again and good luck.

Thanks and same to you! I think it is a way better option than doing the same amount of time and only have an LPN. I am so glad they called when they did! if you are willing to stick it out to September I would definitely say do it!

Do anyone know the name of the book to study from to pass the exam for the LPN there?

I got into the LPN program at Everest! Hooray! Now off to studying!

How long is ITT's RN program & what are the requirements?

The program is a 2 year diploma program. You must pass the Hesi with at least a 70 but to be guaranteed a spot when I was testing you had to be high 80's and 90's. It covers math, reading, vocabulary, chemistry, ap, and biology. I'm not sure when they are going to be testing again I heard that they had stopped testing for a while. It would be best to call the school and see if they have started retesting yet. You don't have to have taken any of these classes to get in seeing as though they incorporate them into the two years but if you have already taken then you can transfer the credits in.

Thanks MsAshley! 2 years is a long time for me so I'll try the Oakland University LPN Program then bridge over. Is ITT costly?
