Hi y'all
Just wanted to see if there are any CSUDH MEPN Fall 2008 applicants out there who would like to join me in the wait. Does anyone know if interviews are finished? I had mine on April 10th. Does anyone know how accurate the school is with their first week of June deadline of notification? Hope to hear from somebody:wink2:
Today should be the day! I'm going to be out of town, but am having someone come to open the letter & read it to me. Sure wish my mail carrier delivered before 5:30. I'm enrolled & working hard in the Patho N346 class, so it sure would be great to not have wasted my efforts so far (not that it's not useful anyway). Have you all taken that class? How detailed are the quizzes/exams? Good luck to everyone.
I didn't take the class at CSUDH like you, I took it through Santa Barbara City College online, the quizzes were pretty detailed but it was open book. There was also a research paper which was not too hard although I got points taken off because of improper reference notation. The midterm and final were closed book, however. I don't know how much this is of help to you since you are taking it at a different school but just in case you wanted to know.
I did call on Monday and found out that they're still reviewing applicants. Mr. Escamilla said that they were trying to make decisions and send out letters ASAP, but for some reason, I have this Friday in my mind as the mailing date. I felt like I should just be patient, so I didn't ask any more questions! Good luck to you, and please let us all know when you hear something so that we can know that at least someone is hearing!
Hey, I'm in!! A regular sized envelope arrived in today's mail (so don't worry about not getting a large envelope). I can hardly wait to get started. A bit of panic is also setting in---can my husband and I handle the financial strains, will I be up to the "kick butt" program as Jorge put it in our orientation? But mostly I'm just so happy and relieved. I'm crossing my fingers for all of you.
Congratulations!! Friday the 13th is now your *lucky* day! I did not get anything, so I am going to take that as an indication that this might not be my turn. I'm sure you're filled with all those change jitters... remember why you're doing this, and you'll be great! Keep us posted about the program for those of us who decide to reapply for next year. Enjoy your good news!

I wouldn't attach much significance to my getting it earlier. For one thing, they knew I needed the letter soon for a finance program at my work (that fell through). But also, it just seems they had a lot of trouble getting through the review process on the applications. Keep your hopes up.
Hi everyone,
I got my letter today too!!!! I am on cloud nine, I am so happy!!!
I got nervous when I saw the thin envelope but long and behold it was an acceptance. I was still expecting it to take longer for some reason, until next week, but I am so glad it was sooner rather than later. Now, I can start my planning, it feels so good to get the ball rolling after being at a standstill for such a long time. :roll

My friend is going to Western U this fall. She will be doing the FNP track so hers will take 4 years. I didn't want to apply there because I really didn't want to take the GRE, I am not good with standardized testing. But Congrats
for getting into that school!! It is a really good school. I didn't know they had a CNL option like CSUDH. The good thing about that program is that I think you can start working about halfway through the program. That's good because one can start paying off their debt by then.
I will keep posting if any news comes my way. I actually called Jorge today because I went to drop off an official transcript this past Thursday and i wanted to make sure he got it because he wasn't there when I dropped it off because he was at a meeting. He said that the portfolios are still being worked on and that he wasn't there on Thursday because he was busy reviewing portfolios. He said to hang in there and that I will know soon, although he didn't give me a time frame. So, soon we shall be finding out.
