Any College of Dupage nursing students out there? Or hopefuls?

I have been trying to find other COD nursing student hopefuls or current students anyone out there?

Isn't LaGrange Park in Cook County, or are there parts that lie within Dupage? One of my very close friends just bought a house in LaGrange Park and she marvels over the high property taxes.

It is in Cook County, but where I am in La Grange Park is in district for COD. Boy was I excited to find that out! I think Wolf Road may be the dividing line, so to speak. (for Dupage county, that is.)

Beth... I'm in the same situation. I border Dupage and Kane and will!

Oh wow that is really cool. I looked at the map on the COD website and never realized that some of Cook fell within the COD district boundary.

I'm in La Grange Park, so not so odd :)

Hey neighbor!! :)

And yup, I'm in Cook County too. I was nervous at the first advising session since they said they take Dupage residents first but I cleared it up and as long as you're in district you are good. Phew! So I was looking at the CNA packet. Where did you go for the chart review? Edwards or your own Dr? I'm wondering i my insurance will pick up the cost.

I think you have to go to Edward for the chart review, but I got the physical and stuff done at my own Doctor. My insurance covered it, but I think it depends on your insurance. Also, be careful with the drug test. I had to pay to take it again, because the original CNA packet (not sure if they've changed it) never had a list of drugs to be tested for, and my original 12 panel missed some of the drugs that needed to be tested for. I had to pay $40 at Edward to have another drug test. Maybe just wait and do your test at Edward, or call and find out exactly what drugs you need to be tested for.

If you go to Edward it's all out of pocket no insurance accepted. But everything will pan out. If I was you I'd start now! The tb test takes a week to read and the second two days. And you have to have it done exactly 90 days. Not anymore. So if you started Friday by the following week youd be done in time. Even though registration isn't until march 22.

I learned the hard way. There was one spot left and I applied a week late because of that. Not to mention registration gets crazy

Sorry forgot to add they do residency check and edward is the only place they do the chart review. I may have missed or said something the wrong way so others please chime in.

Good luck I really want all of us to be eligible to be in the program!

Thanks everyone!! Do you know when you have to be on the CNA registry by? I knew I should've sucked it up and taken the class this semester...UGH!!!

You should have. We would have been together. You have to show up by Oct 1st. So you will be good!

Yah!!! I just checked the Healthcare Registry and I "PASSED" the state exam and I am active on the registry effective 2/14! I also noticed summer classes have been updated on COD website. There's a few choices for Nursing 1100. Everything's coming together, I pray that acceptance letter comes soon for all of us.

td, Congrats!! That's great! Now, can you tell me how to check the registry, I've clicked on the states link and can never get there! How do you do it?!?!? Thanks :)
