I live in Virginia; a wife & mother to a 4-year old and 10-year old. Right now I am currently finishing up pre-reqs for the associate degree...then its onto the nursing/clinical protion classes in the fall of 2008!!! My plan B is if I don't pass the entrance test to nursing school, I will enroll in a local LPN prgram and bridge in.
Am currently taking Develpmental Psych & Sociology. Will take English Comp, Public Speaking, and Computer Literacy in the spring/summer...I am saving A & P until next fall, so I don't have to work while going to school!
Good Luck to Al

Most likely I will be with class 2009 or 2010 too! Currently SLOWLY working on my pre-reqs because have to work full-time. Then, if I do the BSN route, that will take awhile. And I want to maintain a good GPA to get in. So, Hi There! I'm from the Dayton Ohio area.

Hey there...I am planning on graduating in 2009, but that all depends on whether or not I get into next Fall's program. I am done with my pre-req's after these last two classes, so I really need to get in!! If not, I'll end up just waiting another year, so then I will be graduating in 2010. But I'm hoping to :mortarboard: in '09!!
Good luck everyone!!!

Hi everyone! I will be starting nursing school in Jan. '08. Will be 2 years part-time, and will graduate in 2010. I just sent in my seat deposit the other day! I have finished my pre-reqs but have been taking classes one by one for the last 2 years, only have Intro to Computers, College Algebra, English Comp II, Microbiology and US History to go. Hopefully I can take a few of those next year and will therefore only have the nursing classes and clinicals to do by the time I do start.
I was originally going to start in Jan. '07, but found out I am pregnant and my due date is Dec. 9th!!! So, school is put off one year but that is fine by me.
My new mantra: R-N 2010! R-N 2010! :wink2:

I plan to graduate in 2010 as well. I'm taking A&P1 now and plan to have all my sciences out of the way by this summer. I also plan to transfer to A BSN college in spring of 08. After the summer fall of 08 I'll be a Junior at the four year college and starting Foundations of Nursing and Nursing Assements ect. Hopefully I'll have my BSN in 2010 if not sooner! Wish everyone luck!

class of 2010 here, too! i'm a direct admit to the nursing program here and i'm currently taking my pre-reqs (i have to finish all of them within the first year!) and then if i get in, i start nursing classes next fall - at least some of them!
i'm currently taking medical terminology, intro to psychology, fundamentals of nutrition & basic statistics (+ lab). in the spring i'm taking microbiology (+ lab), general/organic/biochemistry II (+ lab), intro to ethics, intro to nursing, study of infectious diseases and *maybe* death & dying (as another pre-req). next semester is going to be tough! T_T
RN-2010 is my mantra too! I've got it on the welcome screen of my cell phone!
Its really easy to get discouraged-2010 sounds like such a looooonnnng time away-but 2007 is just around the corner, you know? We've all got to keep our chins up and support one another. Great to hear from everyone! BTW, I am from Southwest Virginia-don't think I mentioned it in the first post.

Hello!
As I was browsing thru the posts...this one caught my eye. I too hope to become a RN by 2010, however, I still have those dreaded (about 5 or 6 pre-reqs to take) before I can even apply to Nursing school.
This site has been providing me with a lot of inspiration to keep my dream alive! My husband is a Nursing major as well. Funny thing is, he has some clinical experience (he's currently a MA; recent trade school grad), whereas, I have all the college credits.
There are some dynamics we need to work out. Such as: I work FT, he doesn't. We have two kids (might be having a 3rd on the way). I really want to quit my job (or take some type of hiatus). Aside from the prospect of taking out a loan to keep us afloat, I'm fresh out of ideas of how to transition from my current job into Nursing.
Anybody else out there in a similar dilemma?

So with you on the wanting to quit your job thing. How much easier would that be? But at this point, it would just be stupid for me. I have 2 classes left (one of which I am taking now) other than my Nursing classes. So, I'll continue to work (and also, they pay 100% of my tuition) and go to school. My DH does work full-time and we also have a 1 year old daughter. It's hard, but I'm just making it work! Best of luck to you!
