Gastric Bypass
Possible dumb question: Did she willingly disclose to everyone that that is how she lost the weight? If so, then she doesn't strike me as a person who would be against someone coming to her and telling her about her body odor. Tactfully, that is. A basic exchange, such as the following example, may be helpful: You: Hi ______. You look nice today! Boy, you look like a new person. How do you feel having lost _____ lb? Aromatic woman: Thanks! I feel great. I have so much more energy now. You: Great, glad to hear it. Listen, I don't know if you're aware or not, but there's been a recent study about adequately maintaining personal hygiene after having one of those operations. Have you heard about that? Ok, I know that may draw a fine line btwn genuine concern and lawsuit! :monkeydance: Good luck!

Moving to CA,need suggestions really bad!
Hi Rebecca! You sure you want to move to CA? lol. The cost of living here is ridiculous. I live in the SF Bay Area. I can't speak much for Sacramento, other than the fact that when it's hot, it's hot; when it's cold, it's freezing. You mentioned community colleges. There is the Peralta community college district, which consists of four schools (Alameda, Berkeley City College [formerly Vista College], Laney and Merritt). Merritt College has a Nursing program. Their website is: www.merritt.edu. There is also another school, Samuel Merritt College (same founder I believe), but that is a pricey private school. But very prestigious I might add. There's also Mills College, where they've implemented a program where you do two years there, and you're guaranteed to get in at Samuel Merritt for the remaining two years. As for the child care, Bananas is a great child care referral place. Oh how could I forget the cities?! The above mentioned places range from Alameda, Berkeley (yes, thee infamous Berkeley, CA) and Oakland. These cities are within a 10-15 mile radius of each other. I hope that helps; Good luck!!!!

Any Class of 2010's??????
Hello! As I was browsing thru the posts...this one caught my eye. I too hope to become a RN by 2010, however, I still have those dreaded (about 5 or 6 pre-reqs to take) before I can even apply to Nursing school. This site has been providing me with a lot of inspiration to keep my dream alive! My husband is a Nursing major as well. Funny thing is, he has some clinical experience (he's currently a MA; recent trade school grad), whereas, I have all the college credits. There are some dynamics we need to work out. Such as: I work FT, he doesn't. We have two kids (might be having a 3rd on the way). I really want to quit my job (or take some type of hiatus). Aside from the prospect of taking out a loan to keep us afloat, I'm fresh out of ideas of how to transition from my current job into Nursing. Anybody else out there in a similar dilemma?
