native American?

Isn't ma'am Suzanne4 a natural born American?

oh dear... :lol2: I thought all discussions are pertaining to the NCLEX in Manila.

Isn't ma'am Suzanne4 a natural born American?

Native american doesnt mean "a true born american" , john wen u say native americans ur pertaining to the "indians".....u better remember that.

Native American means an American Indian................

American by birth is what I am.

Naturalized American means someone that was born in another country but is now a US citizen. This would be a Filipino that now holds US citizenship.

And there are differences with each one of them.

please stick to the original topic of this thread................

thank you.:balloons:

Thank you very much for the correction 2b_usrn!

Yes, I was referring to that, hehe...I must have had too much of the "native language" word usage in the Visascreen handbook that I adopted its usage/meaning in the wrong way...Sorry for the confusion caused by the term that I used...

I do hope security will be tight when the NCLEX center opens in Manila. I'm paranoid that a number of lazy Filipinos will find a way to cheat the NCLEX. I know that because I know of sooooo many student nurses who are addicted to cheating.

There has been no further word from Pearson-Vue other than the statement that they posted in February on their website.

You can bet that if one issue crops up with the NLE exam this month, there will not be a center in Manila. The center in Korea has already been closed in April because of cheating issues, and that has been documented as happening much more frequently in other areas that we are all well aware of. If one center was closed because of the reported three cases, do not put all of the focus on the center becoming a reality there.

Dont give up hope yet on NCLEX in the Phil.s! I think that they are still trying to find the right vendor to work with here in the Phil.s

I learned that a couple of months ago I was interviewed by a co. that was participating in an RFP ( Req. for Proposal) that was sent to service companies ( By Pearson Vue I beleive) that currently provide testing services for US regulated liscences (e.g. the testing service that provides tests for A & P(Aircraft and Powerplant) mechanics for the FAA ( Federal Aviation Autority - a US Gov. body ) here in the Philippines.

One of these companies had tried to recruit some Nurse consultants and even Doctors to be part of their RFP bid team. Though I interviewed for the job, where they breifed me about what they were looking for, my family situation did not favor pursuing this line.

I so that activity as "some sign" that NCLEX wasstill working through its RFP etc. These things do take time as the co. I interviewed with shared especialy where US Homeland security etc. and US govt. regulations are enforced. For whatever this bit of info is worth...

we should not really get our hopes high on this. pearson only said "selected", they did not even mention a timetable. for all we know, its just that, a statement. besides, we really really have a lot of issues with transparency to deal with.

Any update on when nclex will start here in Philippines?
