I wanted to start a thread for all of the people who are waiting for the November ANC selection board, specifically if you have/waiting on the M5 identifier for Emergency Nursing. I thought we could suffer together and update each other while we wait. You are welcome to post if you have another specialty or none at all.
My status:
I have submitted all documents, and waiting on M5 identifier approval, physical approval and for the packet to make it past QA.
I made it, 66H (Active duty), OML. I received the news on Dec 2nd. I was having login issues so I was unable to post. Back in business now. Congrats to everyone who made it:yeah: and keep your head up to all those who did not:up:. I have experienced many disappointing times in my life and was able to bounce back and try again. Anything that is worst fighting for give it another chance and you will succeed. It's a pleasure to know through cyberspace that I will be working with some awesome people.
I am OML too.Did you already know what sequence number you are? I asked my recruiter about mine and he said "it is still jumble up"...
Do the contracts specify what course? From what I read, you're guaranteed a course, but not a specific one. Also, I was told that the Army has up until you have one year left to get you to your course.
No it says you put a preference in, you do it within 6-12 months while active duty, that you need 1 year of nursing exp prior to attending, that needs of army trump your timing preference...
I would not worry about it to much at this time, as all you can do is work with the system - you can't control it... you also can't work with it until you are in. That is a big part of being successful in the military - being flexible.
Am I the only one that hasnt heard about the results from their recruiter? I last spoke to recruiter on Thursday and they hadnt heard anything about me at that point...
I haven't heard from my recruiter either and I am getting really worried...and ANXIOUS!! I just want the results already...Everyone keeps telling me no news is good though. I guess that's one way to look at it!
My recruiter told me that everything should be final today -- I got to spend some quality time at her office, doing the usual: fingerprints, signing forms, raising my right hand, having my husband pin my 1LT rank on ... yep, 1LT. LOL!! I might end up really being a 2LT, but for now, I'm in the system as a 1LT (which could be/probably is a goof, but we're going with it!).
Congrats Lunah! She just called me with the bad news. They didn't take anyone graduating this year (totally unofficial guys PLEASE no one call their recruiters freaking out, plus I'm a new RN not RN-BSN...) Really doesn't surprise me, who else would hire a nurse 7 months from graduating? Not having the rolling board was a bummer but c'est le vie. I'll be applying in either '11 or '12, I'm sure. Gives me time to work on those push ups.
Contrats and good luck to everyone who made it!
