Anyone else taking Chem and Anatomy together this fall? I'm ready to hammer the science pre-req's out this year, so I'll only be taking those two classes and then then just Physiology and Micro in the Spring.
Any study plans or tips?
Organic for Dummies is a wonderful book, and anything in the Lippincott Review series is good, as well. The Biochemistry book from them saved my life!
I second the suggestion for trying to add it during drop/add. Make friends with the secretary in the science department - they can look out for you, and maybe help you with an instructor override, if nothing else.
Is there another local school you can go take it through? We have 2 state universities here, plus a community college, and for fundamentals classes like A&P, if one place doesn't have it, it's a safe bet one of the others will let you come take it as a special student.
I will be taking A & P2 with chem and english 1 this fall. It will be tough especially with a full time job but the a&p professor i am taking i took a&p1 last semester so i know how she grades, etc. I am not really worried about that class. Besides i heard that a&p2 is easier than the 1st class. what i worry about most is chemistry. never had in my life. i tried to do an online class over the summer but had to drop out of it-it was too much. was only a 5 week class!!! anyways i finish a&p2, chem, english 1 in fall 09 then all i have left is micro and english 2 then just wait to hear if i get in for spring 11. good luck to you all!
API,APII, Chem are not that hard. The classes are completely doable it is just that there is so much info to learn. It is best to not cut corners when studying esp. with those three sciences. Particularly when AP and chem play such a integral part ofyour foundation for clinicals and pharm. I took AP before but did not really perform well because I was battling a chronic illness at the time. I got a B and a C. So I am taking it over and plan to get A's and then apply to LIU Brooklyn for Fall 2009 in the Jan.
I wish you luck and I know that you will pass because when there is a will there is a way.
The A&P for Dummies has helped me so much!
I can only find the Anatomy for Dummies, is that the book you are talking about? :icon_roll
This Fall is A&P I, Nutrition, and Psych, this Spring is A&P II, Micro, and Developmental Psych, Summer is Intro to Socio and studying for my Entrance Exam. Which leaves me with a clean plate for Nursing School!!!

Yes, it's the A&P for Dummies - great book!
Hey Everybody!
I'm taking A&P II, Micro, & CHEM this Fall. Labs as well. I'm also taking College Algebra & Speech:uhoh21:
I'm not going to be working so I will be in school all day. I have no children so there shouldn't be a distraction. I'm in Italy right now, but I'm going back to stay with my sis to finish up the remaining pre-reqs. I still need Organic Chem, but I won't be here in Jan. to take it. I might stay, I don't know. We are military and we pick orders soon. I'm going to school at Tyler Junior College in Texas. Anybody been there?
All my classes are paid and accounted for!!! I am officially a pre-nursing student at WCC!!! Yay for me! Although the A&P class is kinda freaking me out - and they won't let me buy my books early!!!
Anywho, I heard there is going to be a thread for A&P starting somewhere around here in the Fall, does anybody know when that is getting started?
Good Luck Everybody!!!
