An update from the author of , "I Failed out of Nursing School ... Appealed and WON!!"

Published

In April I wrote the article in hopes that my story would inspire other nursing students to persevere against the odds. If you read the original article you will learn that I was a nursing student who beat the odds when my grade appeal was successful after failing a second class. And I was astonished when my article gained attention both positive and negative. To my dismay shortly after the article was published I was notified by an administrator that my username would have to be changed from "BornANurseJB" to "ToBeBornANurseJB". After my username had to be changed, I somehow lost my password and have not been able to gain access to that account. I received some really sweet messages from other members and I hate that I lost touch with those who reached out. So I wanted to give those who care to read an update. Since then I have graduated nursing school (August) and last week I passed the NCLEX (1st time). So today I decided to make a new account with the degree and initials I fought so hard for! It's NurseJen_BSN,RN :)

Florence Nightingale once said, "I attribute my success to this: I never gave or took an excuse." Today less than a year later I can proudly say that I never gave or took an excuse. And I hope I always have an attitude that reflects that.

Thank you!

So this isn't you - https://www.washingtonpost.com/news/grade-point/wp/2015/05/13/nursing-student-sues-misericordia-university-after-failing-final-exam-twice/ ?

Just trying to get this straight in my brain. We can switch to PM if you prefer.

And the plot thickens.....

Btw.. I think I'm a little drunk from bingo off this thread.

I have no reason to lie. I saw that article like a week ago and found some of the similarities ironic. However, whatever anyone chooses to believe in is out of my hands. From what I read that girl is in the middle of a lawsuit and isn't currently enrolled in classes. I just graduated in August and less than a week ago I passed the NCLEX. But let's think logically... if I were that girl from the article do you think it would be smart to be posting in public forum in the middle of a lawsuit with a lawyer that probably coaches me before I speak? Um NO. SO that being said I'm gonna log off and go on my merry way because at the end of the day it doesn't matter what anyone thinks or says on here.

Thank You

Lol it sounds like you're realizing it's not a good idea posting here. I'm about 99% sure she's the same girl from the news article after this post...

Specializes in M/S, LTC, Corrections, PDN & drug rehab.

We aren't trolls & you're obviously not done (I lol when people say that) because you keep coming back.

Once again, what did you expect when you came back???

The article is dated may 13.

Some people are very clear about how special they think they are.

"..................... because I was meant for greatness."

LOL-yeah, I saw that. Talk about being stuck on yourself.

Specializes in NICU, Trauma, Oncology.

Hahaha ::rofl::

Same initials, same first name, same backstory about 2 failed classes, same timing, and finally the same attributed diagnosis. Gotta say, this exceeds my "coincidence" threshold. I am having difficulty buying that this person actually ever did graduate, let alone pass the NCLEX. You seem to be making a lot of claims but haven't really backed anything up. Not sure about the veracity of any of this and it really just comes across as an attempt to save face after all the arrogant stomping around that happened in the first couple of threads.

Well, the name from the article doesn't turn up any license number in PA. Which is a relief, whether it's the same person or not.
