American River College Spring 2016

Published

Hello! I have been looking for a thread for ARC for Spring 2016 and have yet to see one so decided to start one myself! Anyone applying for ARC's ADN program for Spring 2016 that want to share any questions or concerns while we wait for acceptance letters? This is my 5th time applying and am really hoping this is my lucky semester!

Is anybody here thinking to applying to SCC in the spring? That is if some of us don't get in for the spring semester at ARC.

I would suggest that anyone that isn't accepted at ARC also apply at SCC. Why? The entry requirements are very similar between the two programs and people should apply everywhere they're qualified. If you're accepted by more than one program (happened to me) at the same time, you can then choose which one you wish to attend. Why limit yourself to just one program?

I totally agree with you, I applied to three schools for spring 2016: San Francisco City College(I didn't get in-lottery), San Joaquin Delta College (got in!) & American River College (application qualified, don't knw the status yet)but I already chose Delta College. Yayyyy!!!

Apply to as many schools as possible to increase your chances.

So im guessing no one heard anything?.. Ive been checking my email/eservices/and this website constantly. Gahh the fear :'(

No news here, bleh

Nothing here either :(

When they're ready, they'll send out the emails. Just keep an eye on your junkmail folders because it's possible for some of these emails to be inadvertently filtered there. I imagine they will send out all the emails all at the same time, in one batch. If for some very strange instance where they had more "regular" students decline than they have alternates, they may offer those seats to students that had to be rolled back or they may send out a few offers to students that were declined but were in the applicant pool. If you're not selected, and you know that you were in the applicant pool, there's a very slim chance you could still get a seat.

While I went to SCC and got a great education there, I have nothing bad at all to say about ARC. They have a very fine program and their grads are very good.

OK, follow me for a second while I brain storm, and since we are still playing the waiting game, I figured we can sit and chat a bit about speculations.

So, even if you scored low, you still can be qualified but not placed in the pool. If you score high enough, like 70 and above, you can probably assume you've made the pool. You just have to assume that they have accepted all your documentations and that you received all the points you applied with. There's really no way of knowing for sure that you've made the pool.

My million dollar question: Will everyone get an email one way or the other by the 8-week mark? And I'm speaking only about ARC. I know every school does things differently.

I'm kinda relieved that no one heard back today. That means we will likely wait two more weeks. What is everyone doing for distractions?

I sure hope they tell us soon, I need to register for some classes if they don't. I thought for sure it was gonna be on the 6th. Keeping fingers crossed, I sure don't want to have to take the TEAS again.

My status stayed the same as application qualified BUT the date changed from the 26th of October to yesterday the 6th of November. If I read correct your status stays qualified if you didn't get chosen. I wonder if other people's updated to them being accepted and I just didn't get chosen.. Did anyone's update yesterday?

@Imnurse5, thank you for this new information. I checked my status after I read your post. Mine has not changed yet. Still says application qualified and last updated October 9.

Anyone else changed since yesterday?

Hi bbaze!

How long is the TEAS test good for? I didn't know we need to retake. I really hated that test.
