  1. The statistics for program applicants is now available on ARC's nursing web page! Looks like there were 260 qualified applicants with 122 scoring at least 70 were placed in the lottery pool.
  2. Hello, I found your information very helpful. I just got accepted into the ARC Spring 2016 cohort! I was wondering if you can tell me what are the materials you need to bring to lectures and clinical. Do I need a good rolling backpack to carry everything?
  3. Go to ARC Eservices enrollment. Search for classes. Look up Nurse 400. There you will be able to see the numbers of seats available and the number of waitlist.
  4. Yes, SCC admits both semesters but only one application period in the Spring of each year. So I was saying that only ARC has an open application in the fall, locally. I'm not so sure that an extremely high scoring candidate has any additional advantage over others qualified in the 1/3 pool. It appears there are candidates in this board discussion that scored as high as 85 (which is top 2%) and still did not get an acceptance email this round. This leads me to believe that it is truly random lottery of the top third.
  5. Honestly, I just don't know. They've been inconsistent with their processes. What has been consistent is that acceptance and alternate emails are sent first and before the 8 weeks deadline. Anything else is just speculation. I wish I had more concrete answers. I'm really sorry.
  6. I just checked enrollment numbers on eservices and it looks like there are 44 spots and 20 waitlist (alternates?). It would appear that it is close to a 1/2 chance of being selected rather than 1/3 chance. Those odds are pretty good.
  7. I know that I got very lucky and I feel so sad for those who didn't make it this time. But please don't give up hope and keep moving forward. Next semester, many more local programs will be available. Spring is hard because locally, only ARC offers ADN. Honestly, I think it was pure lottery luck of the 1/3 top scores. Don't get too caught up in figure out what went wrong. If you scored as high as 70 or higher, you did something RIGHT. You studied hard and worked hard. You WILL get in and be successful.
  8. Guys, don't give up. This is our dream and whether it's this semester or the next, we'll all get there if we don't give up! I was already preparing my applications for next semester for 4 different schools. I even got enrolled in extra classes like sign language, pharmacology, and dosage just to prepare while I wait another semester. You'll get your answer today or for sure tomorrow. But don't give up. Plan for the future and move forward. I'm praying you all get your notice soon and we can start our journey together.
  9. Check your email! I got accepted!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I feel the same way! It is probably considered unhealthy if it's causing us all to feel sick! I'm seriously feeling sick to my stomach thinking the worst thoughts. I think this is how ulcers start...
  11. Doesn't look like any letters, accept or reject, have gone out yet. Why do they do things so differently every single semester?? I want to be strong enough to just not check until Friday but I've been so impatient.
  12. You got into Delta, right? If so, best wishes!! And thank you for letting us know.
  13. I have a terrible nagging feeling that I'm probably not in. We are SO close to the deadline for notices to go out. I just can't see any positive chance that they will send out acceptances this late. I'm dreading the email this week that will probably say, "sorry you didn't get in, try again next time".
  14. I agree with you that they need to set one date for announcements. It's so unnecessarily painful like this! I know that about Sierra, sucks. SCC doesn't even update your eservices to application qualified. They keep it at Application Received the whole time.
  15. I wonder, then, how they account for those alternates in the total number of cohorts for the following semester. If all of the alternates take advantage of that opportunity, then does it reduce the number of individuals for that following pool? For instance, if there are 10 alternates this semester and they all state that they will take their spot next semester (Fall 2016), that would mean 10 spots are occupied by the alternates, leaving only 30 potential applicants to be accepted in the Fall 2016 pool, right? I'm assuming the cohort size is 40. I hope I'm making sense.
