Hello! I have been looking for a thread for ARC for Spring 2016 and have yet to see one so decided to start one myself! Anyone applying for ARC's ADN program for Spring 2016 that want to share any questions or concerns while we wait for acceptance letters? This is my 5th time applying and am really hoping this is my lucky semester!
Zcao,I think we will be hearing next week. I only say that because last semester they notified us i believe on the 6th or 7th week and it was a Thursday. Also the application says it takes about 6-8 weeks so I think they will send out notifications next week, but I am still checking my email 5 times a day or more. I just really really really want to get in this time. Praying.
Do you remember what the last day of application was for last Spring 2015 application?
I think I read that some ppl heard back on Oct 30, 2014 that they got accepted for Spring 2015. I'm wondering if that was 5 or 6 weeks out.
BTW, they've updated their flowchart to NOT say 6-8 weeks notification. Instead it says "You can expect an email regarding the results eight (8) weeks after the application due date." If that's the case, don't hold your breath. We're going to be waiting until second week of November. Am I wrong?
The only way we will find out if notifications have been sent already is probably through here, because the rejection letters go out about a week after they have announced all the applicants...I am stressing sick about this, I really want to get in, its soo hard waiting and knowing that time goes away...And its the the hardest getting the rejection latter, so much emotions mixed together...
Has anyone heard back? Or get an acceptance? My status changed from application received to qualified a lot later then what people are posting. I wonder if I got accepted id hear later then anyone again? My status still says application qualified. I feel like they wouldn't be doing much on the weekend so if we didn't hear before today I guess its still the waiting game..
So now that I've looked through a few threads I'm kind of confused. I thought your application only changed to qualified if you were in the top 30% or the "pool" for the lottery. I read something that made it seem like that wasn't the case. So if some of your extra points don't qualify you wouldn't really know, you're still considered qualified if you met the lowest requirements. gah I felt like there might have really been a chance and reading these comments I'm getting kind of bummed.

From what I gathered, if they didn't ask you to send additional proof and you are deemed "qualified," then they've accepted all of your application backup materials. You can be "qualified" even at points in the 30s.
But to be eligible for the lottery pool, you need to score in the top third of qualified applicants. If you're not in the top third of qualified apps, you will need to try to bring up your points for the next round. The past six rounds have cut off the lottery pool at 70 points. Those scoring under 70 did not get pooled into the lottery and were not considered for enrollment, even though they were considered "qualified."
I have not heard anything yet either. I'm guessing it will be next Friday when notices start coming out. I'm already planning for re-applications. Feeling quite pessimistic since I'm never lucky.

I'm not sure I understand your exact question but I'll try to help based on what I know.
Speech is a co-req at ARC and will not be used in the Application process to calculate points for qualification. ARC program recommends taking it during first year of program training and you only need a grade C or better. If you have taken it already and received C or better, great! That means you don't need to take that class during your training -- one less thing to worry about! As for transferring units for Speech from another college, you will need to send official transcripts from that college to the ARC admissions and records. Then that dept will will take the most current grade, which I'm assuming is your second attempt and is the better grade. The nursing dept only cares that you got C or better in Speech. The records dept will accept C or better for Speech in order to graduate you from the ADN program. HTH
