I haven't been to any of the Multicriteria meetings on the new application process for American River College but I have a question:
If ARC is selecting students from the top 30% of applicants and automatically giving top 30% spots to those who have applied 5 or more times, does this mean that the top 30% will be made primarily of those who have applied 5 or more times?
Does it mean that you need an even higher score to be put in the top 30%/one is less likely to get a spot in the top 30% based on the multicriteria score? Or is it the top 30% of the multicriteria scores AND 5+ time applicants are included in the selection pool?
I hope some of this makes at least a little sense :)
Hey marissa.denise! Wonder if we could possibly trade?!? I still haven't put in my intent to enroll at SCC just in case I was chosen as an alternate to ARC's program. I haven't heard back so I'm guessing that ship has sailed. Anyone receive actual rejection letters from ARC yet?
Gosh, I am so stoked to have been accepted to the program but along with this awesome news, I am getting really anxious about the financial aspect of it all. I know they discourage you from working but I still really need to. I don't qualify for financial aid/ federal loans and my credit is not the best to get a private loan. Also, I am scrambling to find daycare for my 3 year old. Arrggghhh! I'm trying to tackle it all, one thing at a time. Going into Spring semester would help me out! Sorry... had to vent!

If you haven't already, you should seriously look at getting a BOGW. That gets you at least a tuition waiver, small discount on parking, and a discount on the transit pass. You'll still have books and the like to get, but at least the BOGW is one fee that's off your mind.
