I haven't been to any of the Multicriteria meetings on the new application process for American River College but I have a question:
If ARC is selecting students from the top 30% of applicants and automatically giving top 30% spots to those who have applied 5 or more times, does this mean that the top 30% will be made primarily of those who have applied 5 or more times?
Does it mean that you need an even higher score to be put in the top 30%/one is less likely to get a spot in the top 30% based on the multicriteria score? Or is it the top 30% of the multicriteria scores AND 5+ time applicants are included in the selection pool?
I hope some of this makes at least a little sense :)
Thanks, I received an email with an attachment that says "Qualified Alternate Students not selected this semester will be offered a slot in the following semester. Candidates do not need to reapply to the Nursing Program"
So I assume thats what it means but not sure with the new selection process. I guess I will find out tomorrow when I go in!
Oh you are totally in next semester!!!!! Ahhh!! Congrats! I am so happy that so many of us got selected :))))
Congratulations to all of you that got into your desired schools! My only suggestion is that even though you have been accepted for school, you should still follow their directions about how to proceed. That is still very much part of the selection process. You should pay attention to the communications you received from the nursing departments as that will advise you what is coming next. The next couple of months are going to be a blur for a lot of you as you have a fair amount of tasks you need to complete and submit to the nursing departments so that you can attend clinicals.
If you are identified as an alternate, and your email states that you will be offered a seat in the following semester, you should keep a very close wash upon your emails because you are still possible students for this upcoming semester.
They will also likely require you to attend an orientation session, and at least at SCC, that orientation session is mandatory. That orientation session will probably be toward the end of this semester, which will likely be in a couple of weeks.
Once again, to those of you that got into nursing school, or are alternates, congratulations! If you did not get selected this time, and your application shows that you are qualified, I very much suggest that you reapply and keep reapplying until you get selected. If your application was rejected, and it was because you're not qualified, they should send you some type of communication as to why you were not qualified. If that is the case, correct the deficiency and apply again.
Hi everyone, I've been following this for the last few days, but this is my first time posting. BIG congrats to everyone who was accepted!! I'm still holding out hope for an acceptance to ARC today, and I was wondering if anyone on here had been accepted to ARC that hadn't applied for they're 6th or 7th time? From rereading the posts it seemed like SCC rolled out pretty much all of their acceptance and waitlist letters, but the only people that mentioned ARC said they had applied several times before? I'm only mention this because I'm hoping that they possibly rolled out acceptances for those people who had applied multiple times first and are still working on the rest of us in the pile of hundreds! Thanks!
