American River College Fall 2013 Applicant Pool

U.S.A. California

I haven't been to any of the Multicriteria meetings on the new application process for American River College but I have a question:

If ARC is selecting students from the top 30% of applicants and automatically giving top 30% spots to those who have applied 5 or more times, does this mean that the top 30% will be made primarily of those who have applied 5 or more times?

Does it mean that you need an even higher score to be put in the top 30%/one is less likely to get a spot in the top 30% based on the multicriteria score? Or is it the top 30% of the multicriteria scores AND 5+ time applicants are included in the selection pool?

I hope some of this makes at least a little sense :)

Hi KathyWare! I haven't heard anything back from ARC about Spring 2014! I e-mailed them about a little over a week ago and have not heard anything back. Ekk!

I called last week and nothing! I know they are probably busy but I am going crazy over here!

This is my fifth time applying!! How many points does everyone have? From my understanding, if you have 70 points or above you are eligible for the lottery. Fingers crossed!

I know, I'm scared they forgot about sending those e-mails out to the alternates of fall 2013! I reread over and over the e-mail to make sure I DID NOT have to reapply and that we would get a notification in November. You didn't reapply right?! LOL. I mean I did just say I reread it a million times, but just asking!! Hahah.

LOL I think I read it about 100 times, it was SUPER weird to not apply to anything!! I did not reapply! I guess it's not real until I get an email....

I'm not sure what the point process is, I didn't attend any of the meetings that. I applied 6 times and I think that is why I was chosen last semester as an alternate, I honestly can not remember my points when I applied, it may have been high 60's to low 70's. I think there is a breakdown of points from last semester in their website......it may show what the majority of applicants had last semester as far as points.

I'm so hopeful!! I did check the points distribution and they had 130 applicants who had 70 points and above. How many do they select each semester?

I'm not sure how many they take but last semester I was alternate #28!! I believe with the new process everything may be changing.

Hi!! Any updates with anyone? Has anyone gotten a response letter yet?

No :( nothing yet :(
