I haven't been to any of the Multicriteria meetings on the new application process for American River College but I have a question:
If ARC is selecting students from the top 30% of applicants and automatically giving top 30% spots to those who have applied 5 or more times, does this mean that the top 30% will be made primarily of those who have applied 5 or more times?
Does it mean that you need an even higher score to be put in the top 30%/one is less likely to get a spot in the top 30% based on the multicriteria score? Or is it the top 30% of the multicriteria scores AND 5+ time applicants are included in the selection pool?
I hope some of this makes at least a little sense :)
It's Official!! If 28 people do not accept their admittance I start in the Fall (ARC) Lol...but I begin in the Spring if not!! So excited! Congrats and for anyone waiting hang in there it will happen I was actually ready to give up and now I am excited again, just don't give up![/quote']Yay!!! Having a guarantee start in the spring is awesome, but you never know, 28 people might decline!! Congrats :)

ARC automatically put anyone that has applied 5 or more times in the top 30%, and then weighted it based on the points. That doesn't mean that there still isn't a chance, but when I dropped off my paperwork this morning they did mention that it was their intention to try to make it possible for those applicants to get accepted. She didn't have a definite number, but the director and the admin assistant are both on vacation as of yesterday, which leads me to believe that for the most part they have sent out the acceptances and those on the wait list. I'm not 100% sure however.
