I worked across the highway at a hospital from my husband's job (general manager at a restaurant). Later on that day, when we got home he had told me about having to call 911 because a lady was having a heart attack in his restaurant. After she was taken away by ambulance, the guy sitting with his girlfriend at the next table was complaining to my husband because he and his companion were trying to have a nice, relaxing dinner, and "she just ruined their day." The only thing my husband said was, "It hasn't been a good day for her either." The audacity of some people! That nice lady survived. She came to the hospital I worked at.

I don't even bat an eye anymore! People are so rude and thoughtless. Was in Bergner's dept store recently during the day. There were two women wanting service, so rather than walk to another dept they started screaming "where's the help around here?" I could have just died - talk about trashy folks!
And...we won't even go there about where I work - the people in our ER are some of the tackiest people on the planet.

i know that as the manager your hubby couldn't say anything, but i would have looked him in the eye and said, "yeah she heard you were going to be tonight and planned this."

Sounds to me like they were after a free/discounted meal. Disgusting! How come every time someone has to deal with something uncomfortable or inconvenient (even if it doesn't directly involved them) they think they should be compensated somehow?

Perhaps if both of them had choked to death on their food, then that ruined day could have been over with sooner.

I saw a man get hit by a car while riding a bicycle across the street. Of course I stopped and went to his aid. He was laying in the street, obviously in pain. A guy got out of his car and came up to me. "Would you kindly move him, he's in my way". I just glared at him "NO I'M NOT MOVING HIM. YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO WAIT UNTIL THE AMBULANCE GETS HERE".
sheesh, the selfishness of some people.

Grrr... the urge to taint people's food... Years ago I was a waitress at a "classy" restaurant on an intersection known for it's frequent/ bad crashes. Two people were overheard at a table complaing about the intersection with a reply along the lines of Oh yes, just a few weeks a go I was trying to get home on a Friday night and was stuck forever behind an accident. Went on to complain about the "nerve" of the police to shut down the road and the inconveninece of LifeFlight landing. Interrupted their weekend plans or something. Their waitress had just returned to work that week- her daughter was the one LifeFlighted who didn't survive.
I hate interruptions as much as the next person and tend to get very anxious if accidents, etc make me late for something important but: A- I never complain when I see a chopper (or a code, etc), everything else stops at that point B- I may complain to hubby when I get home, friend at work/ school, etc and then I get over it.
I wish we could post pictures of these people like at the post office, or bad check writers so if I see one trip and fall at a dpartment store I know to say "Um, you're in my way, I was about to get that blue shirt, move it" and not my usual "Oh, no! Are you OK, can I help you?"

I was driving to a patient's home and saw an SUV hit a man on a bicycle. I pulled over, called an ambulance and went to help the man. As I was pulling over, I watched the SUV pull into the Country Club parking lot a block down the street. The policeman who took my statement after going to talk with her said she was "late for her luncheon and knew someone else would help him." Can you imagine how mad he and I both were? The poor man she hit had a fractured right femur and was in severe pain. She went to eat lunch without knowing if he was even alive! Some people, wasted human tissue I think.
