Am i a nerd

My family thinks that I'm a nerd because I want to start studying for A&P 2 and chemistry next semester. Is it wrong to want to start early?

I think it is better to learn things over a longer period of time. They stick with you longer! Good luck!

No. Those are pretty introductory courses. Unless someone is doing stuff like quantum mechanics, analytical chem, molecular biology and going for a PhD, combined with no social life or skills, I wouldn't classify the person as a nerd. Nursing is pretty much a professional degree....nothing nerdy about it.

I am a nerd and proud of it! Nerds of the world unite, after all we run the thing anyway.

Lol. I started reviewing the respiratory system earlier.

I am a nerd too...and proud of it...especially if a nerd is one likes to learn. Personally, I think nerds make great nurses! :))

Wear your nerd badge proudly! I am a nerd too! Nothing wrong with being prepared for a class... especially one such as A&P! I just finished my second semester of nursing classes. Having a solid grasp of A&P will be such a huge help once you start nursing classes! A&P never goes away. I agree with Pambeela & stcroix... I think nerds make great nurses! Nerds run the world! My mom is a nerd and she is an excellent RN. Hopefully I can make her proud!

I'm always ahead. I don't do well if I show up to a new class unprepared. There's nothing wrong with being nerdy. :) After all, at the end of the day we nerds come out on top.

I'm doing the same thing right now! Why not get a head start when you have free time!?

Never too early to get a jump start! In fact, my Statistics professor already e-mailed us with our homework assignments for next semester and suggested we start now. I'm buying my books next week for the spring semester (starts Jan. 14th). I always find I get good grades by doing this and it takes the stress out of the first few weeks of school.

Would you rather be a "nerd" and get an A? Or would you rather be "cool" and barely get a C? Nerdy all the way :D :D :D

I will be going Wednesday to pick up my school books I started using quizlet for assistance with chemistry and A&P 2

I agree...its never too early to start studying for those classes. I would do it too but my instructor doesnt go from the book, instead she skips around and does power points. I also use quizlet as a study tool. It works for me to make my own questions from pp and book to quiz myself over and over. I even bought the year subscription for $15 to upload pics for lab tests. Bones, nerves, heart, etc. I wouldnt have gotten a 3.8 GPA without it. It is the only tool I study by in prereqs. Dont worry about being called a nerd...better to prepare yourself ahead of time. Good luck!

Oh, ya... nerds are my cup of tea! I like coffee too!

I think a jump start into the next term is a smart idea!

I just started viewing an iP Interactive Physiology CD from an outed textbook to get a jump

start on terms, systems, and yes... got the know how on the krebs cycle before this class

starts! Heck, I have to get an A grade. College does not come easy for me, and

I have to go the extra mile to make it work...

It sounds likes you know your study skills and what works well for you. Do what you have to

do, dispite what your friends and family may think, right? Most people would love taking

these classes, but are too scared of failure... I know, because I was one of them!

Blessings~
