Dec 14, 201213 yr My family thinks that I'm a nerd because I want to start studying for A&P 2 and chemistry next semester. Is it wrong to want to start early?
Dec 14, 201213 yr I don't really understand what you're looking for in this thread. Why would it matter if your family thinks your a nerd for previewing very difficult coursework?Obviously you know that it would be advantageous to get a head start on the material. If you want to be a nurse, I wouldn't worry too much about the reaction of others to your studiousness and adherence to being as prepared as possible.Just my 2 cents.
Dec 14, 201213 yr Be who you are and start studying if you want to. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be ahead of the game! I took an A&P class that didn't include a lab when I couldn't get into the A&P class I needed. It really helped me when I took the required A&P classes.
Dec 14, 201213 yr If you're a nerd, you're a smart nerd. It's important to get and A in those classes if possible. Before Chem I borrowed Chemistry for Dummies from the library and it helped so much!
Dec 14, 201213 yr I always look over the material before the semester starts (It's always good to be prepared for what is to come in your classes). I have found out that those who are not nurses or are not going to school to become a nurse do not understand how importnant it is to make a good grade in these classes and how much time and effort it takes to make those grades.
Dec 14, 201213 yr I think it would be nice to just read over the material before you have the stress of having to memorize it all. I think that would probably make it more interesting. And of course it will help once you are in the class as well.
Dec 14, 201213 yr My final for a & p 1 is on Monday. My a&p 2 class doesnt start until Jan 23. Today my class mates and I were already asking what the first a&p 2 test will be on so we can start studying. You aren't a nerd, just being prepared. It doesn't matter what your fam says because anatomy and physiology is hard so its good to be prepared.
Dec 14, 201213 yr I think it is better to learn things over a longer period of time. They stick with you longer! Good luck!
