Alvin Community College Spring 2018-ADN

Published

Hey guys! I did not see a thread for students applying to the spring 2018 ADN at alvin cc. Who all applied? I emailed Karen and she said "APPROXIMATELY" by Nov 17th they will send out emails as to whether you were accepted, on wait list, or denied.

I applied too. Hopefully, we will hear back soon. I also applied to UTH and San Jac. I live in Pearland so the drive won't be that bad if I'm accepted. Good luck everyone.

Brandon_Hare, I'm so glad to hear you have been accepted into a couple programs so far! I know you've been bustin' your butt trying to get into one. It's too bad they are so far! I grew up in Pearland, but reside in Alvin now. I'm really hoping that helps my chances of getting in since my reading HESI score wasn't the greatest. The implication questions got me.

If you live in Alvin and have taken classes at ACC you have a good chance of getting in. What was your HESI score? Mine was around a 94 with A&P being the lowest at 88.

Hi all! This is my second time applying to ACC's program. I was rejected last semester due to being a couple of credits behind compared to other applicants. My stats are:

HESI: 92 overall (98 A&P)

GPA: 4.0

CREDITS: 24 of the possible 24 that they prefer

I was accepted into San Jac last semester but declined after their orientation was 11 disorganized hours long and they forced us to purchase $450 of scrubs and nursing kit at the orientation without any prior warning. Alvin is clearly more organized and trustworthy! Good luck to everyone!

I am also in process of taking my last prereq so we'll see! If I don't get accepted I will be retaking my reading HESI for sure.

HESI: 88

GPA: 3.6

I am making a career switch from accounting to nursing and am beyond ready to get started! Good luck to everyone!

Hey Casey:

I too was rejected last semester as I had not finished all my prereqs and core reqs. I applied this time with all 24 credit hours completed. My stats are:

GPA: 4.0

HESI: 92 (Reading was an 86 :-( )

I live in Pearland, but took all my classes at ACC.

Looking forward to hearing back soon.

San Jac applicants were supposed to hear something by the end of October, but they experienced "unforseen setbacks" so they are delayed a couple weeks or so. I hope that is not the case for ACC.

Interesting...I hadn't heard that about San Jac.

It may just be the LVN program. Did you apply for San Jac as well?

Yes I applied to San Jac too.

Got ya. It must just be the LVN program then. I still cannot believe how slow this thread is. Hoping that is a good thing!!!

I heard that the LVN san jac people already got their acceptance emails from North campus on the 30th.
