Alvin Community College - ADN Spring 2017

Nursing Students School Programs

Published

Hello.... The application period for Alvin Community College spring 2017 ADN program starts in 2 days... I will be submitting my application for consideration. Just wanted to know if there is anyone else who will be applying too.

I received that email too**

Me too. Got it Friday, but just saw it this morning. We're approximately two weeks away from notifications! *faints*

I wish you the best. The application(waiting) process is very intense. I have everything I need for the BSN program so I applied for both. I am currently waiting to see which one will give me the good news(fingers crossed) I don't want to miss Spring 2017. I would rather start somewhere. Oh and I heard that ACC is starting a dual credit program for current ADN student wanting to get started on their BSN courses.

I remember them talking about the dual enrollment program. That is awesome and sounds like a seamless bridge from ADN to BSN. I'm a big fan of working smarter, not harder. :geek:

Shall we start a countdown? Lol. 13 more days... Come on ACC!!!!

Someone told me that some people that did not meet the minimum requirements have received rejection emails... have any of you heard anything?

Really??? i have not heard anything. I hope they send the acceptances soon.

I haven't heard anything either and I am dying to know :(

My friends mom works with a girl that applied for the program and received the rejection letter and when she called Karen, she was told that once they added up her GPA it did not meet the minimum requirement. I don't know what GPA it was, but I do know she received it. Maybe she got a letter like we did, telling us that the application was complete but instead of confirming that she completed all the steps necessary for the program, she may have received one that said she did not meet the requirements. So I suppose it may have not been an official "rejection" letter like we are expecting, but that is what she called it.

Oh okay, yes I think you're understanding correctly, someone that applied with me was denied because I believe he had a failing grade for a class even though he retook it and passed when I received my application complete email he was told he would not be considered because that is part of the requirements. Nothing lower than a C letter grade

I'm so happy I found this thread!!! I'm anxiously waiting too! I also received the email stating we will get acceptance, waitlist, or rejection notice around November 14th. Talk about long days! Lol. I'm all the way in Katy but from what I hear, Alvin is a really great program so I'm thinking it might be worth the hour drive every day! I didn't realize how competitive it is! I wish everyone the best! Please fill me in on anything and everything you hear! :)

As a recap I can recall College of the Mainland, Alvin Community College, and San Jacinto College that are within the same area. can you guys let me know if I'm missing any other local programs. I just want to start looking into all my options for Summer 2017 just in case I don't make it into ACC.

Houston CC also has a program. I know they are on probation from the BON though.

I am getting anxious as well. I am wondering how many of the applicants had all the courses in the program completed. I am in progress with some of them, so after this semester I will have everything completed. I remember in the informational meeting they were in the process of trying to have dual enrollment for a BSN program. Does anyone remember what school they said they were working with?
