Alvin Community College ADN Spring 2015

Published

Starting a thread for people applying for Spring 2015 at Alvin Community College. Also wondering if anyone knows what counts as proof for Hepatitis B immunity?

I'm guessing that the email means that they've analyzed your application packet and assigned the points to the items in it and have ranked you on the ever evolving list of applicants. I'm sure once they get through all of the applicants, the acceptance, wait-list, and thanks but no thanks letters will be sent out within a day or two.

Is there anyone on here or friends of those on here who have NOT received a completion email? Just trying to get an idea of how many may be left to review based on houtxn & Futureod101 ' s post

I have not received the completion email yet.

Morning everyone! just wanted to stop in and see how everyone is doing? Hope all is well as we are patiently waiting! Has anyone heard any new updates? @Houtxn, still no completion letter or updates?

Morning FutureRN! Same here, just patiently but also anxiously to hear something. I keep checking my email every few minutes. Now that futuredoc heard that we will possibly get news this week, I'm on high alert! Lol

I can't wait till everyone starts getting their confirmation emails and we can get this show on the road! #Ahhhhh #TheSuspense lol

Hey guys, Sorry for being so anxious but I just called the nursing office and asked a few general questions (but really I wanted to get an idea of when to expect emails). She said they are now going from 70 credit hours needed for the associates to 60 credit hours, and that AP I & II, Eng, and Psych will now be required as pre-reqs. If you are taking Pharmacology elsewhere as a pre req you have to score high (A/B) in order for it to be accepted at Alvin CC. Otherwise, it will be taken as a part of their curriculum. And lastly, she said to anticipate letters going out @the 18th (which is weird cause thats this Saturday) through the end of this month. She asked me whats my last name so I don't know if its in alphabetical order or what.

@FutureRN thank you for the info. I am just curious the prerequisites requirement is for the next application period not for us, is that correct ? I took Pharmacology already and I asked during info session and they said the same thing, they will take it if I got A/B.

At the info session, they said the new prereqs will go into effect next go round.

Yes I believe so because although most of us have alot of them already done, it wouldn't be fail to those who are still working on them & now the changes are sprung on them.

Great ! Thanks all :)

I know someone in the forum previously asked about pre-reqs so here are a few classes to start with! :)
