  1. You will probably have to create your own forum just as we did!!
  2. Derrick86, we're you able to join the FB group? Also, how did your friend say the program is? Did he/she give you any suggestions or study tips for the first semester?
  3. Yes feel free to add the group itself. I only posted the link because some people said that they couldn't find the group on FB. We are also able to search for you via email that's why I said you can send a private message. As for the tablet, I have an iPad but I've found that the Kindle is less expensive and are on sale at Best Buy and Amazon.
  4. Congrats Seattle-ite and welcome aboard!!! :) of course you can join the FB group. We are actually waiting on all 30 students to join before making it a private forum to chat and exchange ideas. Again Congrats and we look forward to meeting you!!!
  5. Also, if you want to be apart of the Facebook group please DM me your name and email address and we will try to find you and add you before the semester starts and the group is made private.
  6. Hey everybody, Im sure by now everyone has finished everything on their checklist. Has anybody started purchasing books/supplies? And if so, have you found any good deals? Please share. :)
  7. YES SORRY, TRY THIS >> https://www.facebook.com/groups/1374710602824773/
  8. Hey!!! Join us on Facebook at ---ADN DECEMBER 2016---
  9. Happy Monday you all...Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Week!! Just checking in to see if any of you received an email notification from Alvin as noted on our acceptance packet checklist?? How is everyone doing as far as the checklist of things??
  10. Me too ethiorn...looking forward to meeting you all...Have a safe & happy thanksgiving week!!! :)
  11. Hello All, I saw this in another school's thread and thought I'd ask but any idea on whether we have to take the Hesi as an EXIT exam? I saw that some schools require the Hesi to prepare for the NCLEX. I'm sure we will find out more at orientation though. I was also told by a former student that ACC requires a dosage exam after each semester and if you do not pass after the 3rd attempt you are kicked out of the program.
  12. Perfect! Looking forward to meeting everyone at orientation...I'm anxious and nervous to start in Jan...it will be here in no time!!!
  13. If I'm not mistaken it took about 4 weeks no longer than 6 weeks. So hopefully you should be receiving it before orientation if not sooner! :)
  14. Every school has a foundation of some sort that offer various scholarships. Here are a few that you could look into applying to: http://www.alvincollege.edu/accfoundation/scholarships.aspx https://www.hccsfoundation.org/scholarships Scholarships Nursing Scholarships - SchoolSoup.com As a transfer student, before applying please inquire if you are allowed to take the scholarship/grant funding and apply it to any school of your choice.
  15. @derrick86 @ethiorn I can PM you all information needed to go through the program that I went through. Even if you don't qualify for financial aid alot of the scholarships can be added on to another to get the same effect. But when I say they are easy to get, I mean I applied one week and got a call that I was the recipient the next. I also did not have to write an essay or what not but alot of the larger scholarships require you to do one, but its still a small essay for a huge reward so I personally think that they are worth it! I will send you the information I have but also look into the local ones including any that Alvin have one their website and through the financial aid office.
