An allnurses thread was mentioned in the journal "Topics in Emergency Medicine" this month. It quoted several comments made by members in our "it's a hospital, not a hotel" thread in an article discussing patient satisfaction in the ER. The author used the quotes to back up how nurses are frustrated with being asked to do customer service tasks in addition to professional duties, and mentions a hospital where they had hired a customer service rep with excellent results.

Nice to see that people are listening, and we make an impact.

Is there a link available to the article? Also, a link to the thread. I can't seem to find it.

Thanks,

That is great. A link or a point in the direction where to look would be great. :)

Wow, that is exciting. I'm glad to know that allnurses.com is making a difference and word is getting out.

I can't find access to the article online- I get the journal delivered to my house. I even looked it up on Medline- I can't seem to get that to work for me to find ANY article, let alone the one I want.

The allnurses search doesn't make sense to me either. I've hated to admit it as a moderator, but I put in a search term and it comes up with 20 pages of stuff that has nothing to do with what I want.

*I was kind of hoping someone else would know how to do all this searching...* :)

This also might be the thread; not sure though, cause I didn't see the article.

At our hospital we are supposed to say "Can I get you anything, I have the time."

That smacks of the hotel and tourism industry to me.

I think this might be the thread you're looking for:

Yes, I remember this one.

Wasn't there another time a year ago when another reporter used quotes from Allnurses, and the quotes didn't make us look all that good? I forget what the topic was, I thinking it was the death penalty. One nurse said she would pay for the injection herself? Ring any bells?
