Does anyone live in Virginia and does Alleghany college of Maryland Lpn to RN Online program?
One thing I scare of this program is what if I won't be able to find my clinical area. I talked to the school, they just say that's my responsibility to find my clinical rotations. They just want me to apply to the nursing program first.
I REALLY need to talk to former student or current student about how to find their clinical areas. I live in Northern Virginia area. My clinical rotation choice will be Faquier hospital, Novant Health (Prince William Hospital), Winchester Hospital.
Please give me some information!! Thank you bunch!!

DONT! ACM is awful. I am in PA and did pre-reqs there. Local hospital nurses told me to switch as they wont hire nurses from ACM bc they know nothing! The students do their clinical at this hospital. The advisor is a liar and will promise you the world. They are after your money and nothing else. I went to LPN instead of their RN program due to what former students/nurses told me.
Thank you for letting me know. I wasn't really impressed anyway since I need to find clinicals in my own way. That's just wrong in my opinion. The school don't even have any connections like hospitals or nursing homes whatsoever. sigh**** Do you know any online LPN to RN school? I am willing to travel for clinical rotations but not lecture class thou. Don't know what to do. BIG SIGH

I am just curious... so you took the LPN program at this school?
People outside of Maryland more than likely wouldn't be taking the clinical's at the hospital... is there a reason why they said to not go to this school or this particular program? I am currently attempting to apply to the program and would like more information about what you know.
I feel like any college is "money hungry" and want you to sign up through them. All the information is appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I am currently in this program and it is a great program. Nursing profecessors are very helpful and I have been very impressed with the program. Please don't say any negative things about others or school unless you have experienced directly from them. I would recommend this program to other LPNs. It works if you work hard!
The acm clinical at somerset campus is at somerset hospital. Not the same places as ACM main campus. Just like Bedford goes to local hospitals for them. The nurses I spoke to said none of the ACM students were prepared for anything and knew very little. The thing is this was Somerset campus which are NOT the same instructors as Main campus. So, it would he different. The advisor is the same though. ACM is rather a joke at Somerset which explains why the county bought it and is slowly being taken over.
I went there for 2 semesters. So, I do have direct experience with the Somerset campus. Most the people in my area go pre -req there and then RN though Conemaugh school of nursing. Somerset had been on probation a few times due to low NCLEX pass rates and were on probation 2012 and 2013. Somerset camous has been bought by the county but still linked to ACM main.

I am currently in the program, until now I would have gave it great reviews but we are finishing up and they are having me jump through all these hoops. Its the last 1 credit class and feel like they are trying to make me fail. Graded completely different based on their opinions and not giving me points for assignments that I have finished. They tell you to follow directions but keep changing the directions to accommodate them. They work with you well in the beginning but seem like at the end they could care less. I am in PA (state college) and did my clinicals at UPMC altoona, they have a list of places already established with Allegany. They were great at UPMC and have no complaints there. I have job offers for my RN and valid that I have been an LPN for 7 yrs. If I finish then I will post more. There are a lot of times their information on canvas is incorrect or does not work does not seem like they update the information often. There are times they said allow 48 hrs to answer email but a week later and no response, grades are not posted in a weeks time. Again before this last class everything was going smoothly, no problems and although a lot of work (10 hrs a week at least) of school work, I was seeing a light at the end of the tunnel but again we will see.
