Hello all,
I have looked all over this site in hopes of finding others that are getting their packets ready and are applying to the Air Force this fall. I have not found any recent threads on this.
I am applying for an ER spot. I have been a RN for 7 years and work in a Level II trauma emergency center. I have my MSN-Administrative Leadership and TCRN. Is there anyone out there that is also getting their packets ready for October boards? My recruiter told me that because of COVID everything has been pushed back and that boards will meet in October this year. He also told me that I would be going to MEPS and doing my medical in the next 3 weeks.
I want to apply for a Transport RN spot at the Pedi hospital I work for now that they are losing 3 RN's. They have an ambulance and a helicopter, depending on the nature of the call, and their manager asked me to apply when I saw him last week in the ED. I would rather join the Air Force but being a Transport RN is not far behind on my list.
Me too. The more I watch them the more excited I get. How did your interviews go? For me, they were the weirdest interviews I have ever had. For a job of this nature I would expect this to have been the hardest, most professional interview I have ever had, but instead it was the exact opposite. It turned out to be the most relax, chill and non-professional interview I have ever had. Maybe it was because I am prior service and have been to Afghanistan, but it was very informal to say the least.
Same! Hopefully we both get in! Keeping high high hopes. Those are the best types of interviews! My interview was good, I actually already met the Col who interviewed me when I was a student doing clinicians at Jber! I knew all the questions the Chief nurse asked so I was prepared LOL. Did you apply for an ED spot?
I did apply for ED, what about you? My recruiter actually told me all the ED spots were filled from the board selection in October and that I would be basically interviewing as an alternate, but he also told me he already had 2 recruits turn down positions when selected, but they were not ED though.

I had to search for the name in full to find it. And even then it was a ways down in the results.
