I have looked all over this site in hopes of finding others that are getting their packets ready and are applying to the Air Force this fall. I have not found any recent threads on this.
I am applying for an ER spot. I have been a RN for 7 years and work in a Level II trauma emergency center. I have my MSN-Administrative Leadership and TCRN. Is there anyone out there that is also getting their packets ready for October boards? My recruiter told me that because of COVID everything has been pushed back and that boards will meet in October this year. He also told me that I would be going to MEPS and doing my medical in the next 3 weeks.

Congratulations! I have not heard anything yet. I am still waiting for my commissioning recruiter to contact me. He hasn't replied back to my texts or phone calls. I am surprised it came to August and not July! Are you excited?
I believe the max is 48. I believe the cut off for health professions has to do with lining up so you are under a reasonable age when you retire. If you’re prior service, you get credit for that so I could technically have an additional 9 years to play with.
Thank you for your response. Good, so I still have a few years to play with! I don't have prior service. I received my RN-BSN in Aug. 2020, have been an RN since 2018 and really considering the AF. I don't know much, have been asking around a bit.... want to get advice from others before talking to a recruiter.
Found out I will be going to OTS in July and will be getting stationed in Travis AFB in Cali!
I might be there with you. I was supposed to go a week ago. Found out 3 weeks ago they messed up my rank on my scroll. On a positive note it bumped me up to a captain. Down side is a we’re still awaiting a new scroll. And I quit my job 3 days before they found out. So they are talking sending me straight to Lackland when my scroll drops so I don’t lose the assignment. Worst rollercoaster ever.

Nothing has been verified on what exactly is happening. Maybe? Or I might just start work active duty and they will get me to OTS when it’s convenient for my gaining unit.

Hopefully you get a slot in the next coming OTS! At least your rank got bumped to captain! Good luck with everything. That sounds frustrating as you were ready to leave but everything will fall into place.
