I have looked all over this site in hopes of finding others that are getting their packets ready and are applying to the Air Force this fall. I have not found any recent threads on this.
I am applying for an ER spot. I have been a RN for 7 years and work in a Level II trauma emergency center. I have my MSN-Administrative Leadership and TCRN. Is there anyone out there that is also getting their packets ready for October boards? My recruiter told me that because of COVID everything has been pushed back and that boards will meet in October this year. He also told me that I would be going to MEPS and doing my medical in the next 3 weeks.
For what it's worth, hubs was stationed there per-hurricane Katrina (we're old LOL) when he was enlisted and it's not THAT bad LOL. The hospital was pretty big and the base itself was nice. You aren't too far from the Alabama/Florida pan handle/gulf area which is beautiful. I figure it's all what you make of it. We're at Travis now and some people just hate it but there's a ton of beauty out here. You could focus on some of the downfalls like how expensive Cali is or how dumb some of their rules/laws are-or you can make the best of what you have.

Oh wow you are old! LOL jk. But yeah on the map it looks like a good area. The only info I’ve ever really heard was from when I was a young airmen from other young airmen who base everything off of how they liked the bars and strip clubs LOL
I have not heard anything either! Hoping for soon though. I can’t believe they are still just notifying people that will attend the January board. I know everything moves quickly but people gotta plan LOL! I did my fingerprints the day we were selected and finished my background check stuff when I submitted our stuff to the board. I have only signed a few forms here and there since selection but wishing things would move along!
Wow! Jackpot! What type of nursing? Did you find out both at the same time?
I found out both today! I was getting texts from my recruiter while I was working so it was kinda crazy LOL. She said she found out both today and that my assignment was listed on the ots roster somehow. I'm going in as a clinical nurse! Going to get uniforms on Monday! It's all getting real!
My recruiter called me yesterday and said that my scroll was still pending so we’re hopeful for February or March. He said another girl from my region was pending as well. However, another girl from my region does have her scroll complete and is also going to the January class. So I wonder if that’s all what we’re waiting for!
He said he can see mine got to headquarters 9/9 and has been “pending” since that time. But same timeline with the other girl in my region as well! So hoping for something soon - he said in his experience on average scrolls take 6ish weeks. It has been almost 12 LOL ?

I just found out I will be going to OTS on 1/5 and my assignment is JBER! So stoked but also just wasn’t expecting that! So soon!
