I have looked all over this site in hopes of finding others that are getting their packets ready and are applying to the Air Force this fall. I have not found any recent threads on this.
I am applying for an ER spot. I have been a RN for 7 years and work in a Level II trauma emergency center. I have my MSN-Administrative Leadership and TCRN. Is there anyone out there that is also getting their packets ready for October boards? My recruiter told me that because of COVID everything has been pushed back and that boards will meet in October this year. He also told me that I would be going to MEPS and doing my medical in the next 3 weeks.
Got word from my recruiter yesterday I have officially been board selected as a family nurse practitioner. Need to finalize some things and get my MEPS re-certified (expires next month), but past that, this two year process is finally getting squared away. Stoked and looking forward to rejoining active duty. Good luck to all on their applications and fingers crossed there will be no more hiccups.

For anyone who hasn't checked this page out, it has a ton of direct from the AF resources including the class dates and an OTS Welcome Guide (it is subject to change and changes every so often but it is generally up to date). It's nice to get you started and has a list of all the things you'll need and need to do. Don't let it panic anyone who isn't familiar with some of the terms and such, someone will help you as you go but for those leaving in Jan...may want to take a look sooner rather than later LOL. Still no date yet for me.

Mine just was submitted and approved. I don’t know the logistics of how this happens though. Sadly I might not get my shot. Air Force surgeon general threw out my meps clearance for some prior service medical connections. Awaiting an act of God at this stage to pull through for me.

Aww man that's rough! Hope things work out for you! It's been almost a year process for me having to get a medical waiver and still haven't heard anything. I wasn't sure if FNPs hear back along with the other nurse boards. My recruiter just keeps saying I'll know if I'm accepted or not "soon"
My recruiter called me today and said there were a couple drops from the January group and asked if I wanted to try to get a spot. It will be here soon but I guess we have to do at some point so I told him to put me on the list. He said it’s not a guarantee but he emailed my name so we’ll see if I get it.
Just got the notification to report no later than January 5th! Kind of surprised with me being overseas. Looks like it’s going to be a quarantine Christmas for me! Putting in my 2 week work notice today?. Went from the wait phase to the HURRY phase really quick.

WOAH! So I see you said your info came in an email. So that didn't come from your recruiter? They called my husband but today the recruiter told me I could very well know before him if they send me an email. Now I'm worried I'll miss it in the junk mail or something. I just need something to tell me I'm not leaving in Jan LOL. I'm glad you're getting to go but hate you have to quarantine over Christmas! Welcome to the military I suppose ??♀️??♀️.

My recruiter said it was news to him! I haven’t had any communication since my notification of being selected. He’s going to call me tomorrow once he has a chance to look at my file. Curious to see how they will get all of my stuff pulled together before I leave in 3 weeks.
