Has anybody heard anything about nursing boards for 2011? Last I have heard is that they are looking at a late July/early August board.
Also, how are the November 2010 AF board people doing? Has anybody been picked up? If not when are you looking at re-applying again?

To the 2 people that applied for the HPSP (Angie Bee and Nurse Rich) I'm thinking of applying for the HPSP for the next fiscal year. So would you mind giving me an idea of what your stats looked like. Example...prior nursing experience? prior military service? have you already been accepted in to an MSN program? And any other additional information that you have to include with the packet. I'm not sure what exactly the board is looking for but I want to make sure that my packet is as competitive as possible.
Thanks!

I heard they only had 6 FNP positions for 2012 fiscal year. So it is highly competitive. Prior service is good but necessary. AS long you did well in undergrad Im sure you will be fine. You have to be admitted to a MSN program before you apply but the application process is LONG! you have to fill out the application, physical, and complete 2 interviews. just waiting for the results is the hardest part.
I havent posted to this thread but I got really excited when I seen the Rich heard that he was accepted. Im also waiting to hear if I have been selected for a Med/Surg position for the July boards for the AF. My recruiter called for some clarification on my CV, I sent it back immediately. Excited that my app is being reviewed. But its nerve wrecking waiting . I didnt think the wait would get so intense, I havent told my family yet so I cant vent my fustrations to them. Just ready to know. Anyone else hear anything? I hope I get lucky and find out before the 19th!!!!

Welcome to waiting...it is going to be a long 2.5 weeks til we find out the results. Which COT date did you request? Bases? How may years experience do you have?
I know the loooonggggest of our lives. I guess like many others my recruiter left out a couple things, I didnt get to choose a COT date but my recruiter told me that i would probably go the first class for 2012 and I am cool with that. I have 3 years experience 1 year PACU and 2 years Med/Surg. After talking with the CNO who interviewed me, she suggested Wright-Patterson, Lackland, Eglin and Travis. She did make it clear that going to Lackland prepare to be deployed. What are your plans??

If selected, Cot date Jan 9, bases Landstuhl, Lakenheath, Travis, Nellis.
I would be applying as a PNP/MSN candidate. Do you know anything about the number of slots for the PNP's or are the 6 slots for all NP's regardless of specialty? Thanks!
I heard they had 2 or 3 spots PNP spots for the fiscal year 2010. Each speciality is different depending on the needs on the AF

Congrats! I am still awaiting to hear some good news. My recuiter told me that I would hear something back August 19. I hope it is sooner. Did you recuiter tell you how many people they selected in this board selection?
