Has anybody heard anything about nursing boards for 2011? Last I have heard is that they are looking at a late July/early August board.
Also, how are the November 2010 AF board people doing? Has anybody been picked up? If not when are you looking at re-applying again?

I recently sent my packet for the board to review in JULY. I am applying for the Health Profession Scholarships (HPS) for FNP. Can you elborate on the process after you turn in your packet to your recuiter? I am wondering how long will it before I hear whether or not if I got selected. I am soooooo nervous. I heard it is HIGHLY competitive to get the scholarship with the AF. But my recuiter has faith I will be just fine. I am prior service (AF) and am a pretty decent student.
Hey Angie, I just got commissioned in May of this year as a FNP. After I turned in my paperwork to my recruiter, it took a good several weeks to hear back. I think it was about 3-4 weeks. Not sure if that is the normal timeframe to wait. I believe if they went through all that trouble to send you to MEPS and you passed the physical, and you were instructed to fill out so much more other paperwork, you may be at a good standing in possibly being selected. That's my thinking. I mean, why else would they go through all that paperwork and use of admin resources on you if they didn't want you? I could be wrong though.
I was never rejected, but I was not selected twice. I just found out I'm in the October 17 COT and ill also be headed to Nellis. They must be in dire need of icu nurses...I'm just so thankful I got in. I'll be missing my best buds and cousins wedding, though...just the first in a long list of sacrifices I'm sure.

I just found out today that I was ACCEPTED into the critical care department!!! I applied in mid-2009, what a freaking wait! Hang in there people! I have not heard anything about COT dates or assignments yet, my primary was Travis.
BTW, he told me 15 people were selected, and a lot were rejected. I guess even nurses with more experience than I were rejected. I have 1.5 years in a level 1 trauma ICU.
