Has anybody heard anything about nursing boards for 2011? Last I have heard is that they are looking at a late July/early August board.
Also, how are the November 2010 AF board people doing? Has anybody been picked up? If not when are you looking at re-applying again?

Last I heard from my recruiter was there was going to be a March board for FY2012 selection. Although he said he was unsure at this time the amount of RN's that would be selected for FY2012. Im under the impression it will be a small number.
I am not sure if there is a March board, is so packets would have been due the first of January 2011. It is definately not a Fiscal year 2012 Board, as it is still fiscal year 2011. Hopefully boards this year are not cancelled or pushed back.

My recruiter told me that there will be some news sometime during March. He said that this is when the senate appropriation committee decides how much money, personnel, etc that the Air Force (actually the whole Department of Defense) will receive for 2012. He mentioned a June selection board but said that anyone selected would be made an alternate and put in the alternate list behind those that were selected in November. Anyone else hearing anything from their recruiters?

I would not hold my breath for many positions being available. Truth is the military is going to be cutting staff and shrinking overthe upcoming years. They just don't need nurses like they did and especially don't need inexperienced nurses. The economy and the increase of applicants coupled with people staying in has made the military more selective. Throw in budget cuts and a shrinking force and it will not be easy to join.
The Air force FY Budget request was held yesterday:
'HASC Hearing On Air Force FY2012 Budget Request, Feb. 17, 2011, Washington DC'
Hopefully we hear some good news.
The next NTP board is April 5th. Packages must be sent by March 8th. I just finished signing it all to be sent in. Still no word on how many they are taking tho:confused:

This is the same news I have heard. Numbers on how many they will be accepting and how many people applied will be released sometime after March 8th is what I have been told. Not looking promising though compared to normal years. Especially not for new grads. Keep your fingers crossed though! :)

where can we find these numbers when they are released? All my application materials are in as well, but my recruiter hasn't given me much information beyond the April 5th date.
Your recruiter will have the information as soon as it's released.
Hear anything yet from your recruiter laneyg?
