Air Force NTP Board 4/5

Published

The NTP boards opened today for Air Force Nurse new grad candidates and I just wanted to say good luck to everyone involved. I'm in it myself so I was just starting this thread where I can update anything that I find out about my application and everyone else can as well. Results are expected before May so hopefully by the end of the month we get to see some positive news from some of us! :)

:D Hi! I am also waiting this month! I hope we hear good news too! All the pushing back of dates, no news on the budget, and the talks of the Air Force not taking many nurses at all makes me even more nervous than I already am. I keep thinking wow, I hope my timing isn't off...

I agree. The government budget talks right now are a little discouraging. Nursing is a critical field though. That's one good thing to think about because the military needs nurses.

I recently heard that selections were going to be very slim this year. (I am also waiting to find out this month). I spoke with the Chief Nurse of a base I live near; who said that she heard in a meeting this past week that the Air Force nurse percentage is currently 110%. She said the AF has taken in too many nurses the past 2-5 years. Has anyone heard anything similar? Good luck to everyone! :)

It's not that the AF doesn't need nurses, it's just that they do not have the budget for them.

Just heard that the boards had 130 NTP applicants which is very good because that's way down from what it normally is. This is some good news!

My recruiter gave me this number. Anticipation is rough!

Anyone hear back or am I the only retarded one who has not? It looks as if other people in past conversations have received letters via mail/ fed ex? Is that how we will hear or will we hear from our "recruiters?"

My recruiter told me on Wednesday that I would know next week by mid week for sure...I don't know if anyone else has heard different, I am the only person applying that I know!
