Air Force NTP Board 4/5

Published

The NTP boards opened today for Air Force Nurse new grad candidates and I just wanted to say good luck to everyone involved. I'm in it myself so I was just starting this thread where I can update anything that I find out about my application and everyone else can as well. Results are expected before May so hopefully by the end of the month we get to see some positive news from some of us! :)

I haven't heard much about when we should find out. I was just told the end of April or first couple weeks of May. I'm hoping this week we will find out but I'm not sure of the status of the FY2012 budget. This will be the deciding factor they need to know before they can hire nurses.

Last I heard we will be finding out anyday now we are just waiting for the General to sign off on the selections! Fingers crossed for everyone! :)

I have heard via my recruiter that the rumor is only 22 applicants will be selected. With 130 of us who applied this makes me very nervous! :uhoh21:

However, he said this is just a RUMOR so nothing official. Regardless of this, we should find out very soon and good luck to everyone!

@laneyg, my recruiter said the same thing. Only 22 were selected.

Just heard from my recruiter and I was selected as #1 alternate for OB track. He said that the 22 selected will not be going anywhere till Oct. and I have until April 2012 to be picked up or I will have to redo my packet. I just hope I get picked up!

Just heard from my recruiter! I got in! Will be heading to COT Oct 17th! :D

Conglatulations~!:yeah:

I am also waiting for the result. Are you an experienced nurse who picked up as an alternative?

I am waiting for hearing something from my recruiter about NTP program selectee.

Has anyone hear about the result ?

I am a new grad and applied for NTP as well. I hope you hear good news today! :D

Its a no go for me... Maybe I will try the Fully Qualified route when I get more experience

Specializes in Critical Care, Med-Surg. Telemetry.

Congratulations to all who were selected! To all those who weren't, hang in there...This whole process has been killer! I just got word yesterday that I was selected as a new grad in the Med-surg, and will be leaving for COT on Oct. 17. and then for NTP on Nov. 28-Feb. 15, and then stationed in Lackland, TX.

Who else out there got selected for Oct. COT?

Congratulations superman and needsajob! That is very exciting! I haven't heard anything yet and I'm afraid this is a bad thing =( ...but I'm very excited for those of you who have been accepted!

NTP was tough this year, get six months experience in a full-time, clinical in-patient setting and apply for fully qualified. NTP next year will also be quite competitive. Stay motivated, its worth the effort.
