Published

Hi all please post if you are attending Air Force COT in May 2016! I am selected as Flight Nurse and my duty station will be Scott AFB. :)

Hey guys, found out last week that I will go to COT in May then to Nellis for OB. I see a few others going to Nellis. What specialty are you in?

Hey! Just randomly found this thread...trying to find out what to expect for COT 2016 May. I was selected for Travis AFB...if anyone has i"real" information about that base please let me know =)

-If anyone going overseas wants to switch assignments that would be great!

Not going overseas but being stationed at Nellis AFB in Vegas and I'd happily switch!

Hi everyone?

Will be a Flight nurse and will be going to COT in May 2016 then head to Pope AFB in NC. Looking forward to meet you all.

Hi all,

I went to COT Aug 16-Sept18 this year. Let me know if you have any questions.

How were the test? Multiple choice or essay? What advice can you give someone way to COT?

Thanks!

Anyone who has gone through COT and moved on to their first assignment: how long after COT did you move?

You have to move immediately following COT. You get orders that tell you how long you can take to drive to your 1st base. It depends how far away COT is from your first base.

Hi all, thanks for being so informative thus far! I'm assuming most people in this thread applied pre-october? I turned in my application for second boards in December, and am curious how long you all waited before hearing the official or unofficial results? I know it's a case by case basis, but I'm just trying to get a range for timing purposes. I'm also an OR rn, so that probably doesn't help either. As far as all of your base choices, did you get top three of your choices, or was it "the need of the Air Force first"? Thanks in advance and congratulations to all of you selects!

You generally find out about 3-4 weeks after the board meets. Check with your recruiter on the actual board meeting date. The paperwork deadline that your recruiter gives you is actually a month before the board really meets.

I applied for Air Force Flight Nursing. Submitted my paperwork in September and in early October the recruiter said that he had everything and would be working on my paperwork. That's the last time I heard from him. I have e-mailed him about updates or if he needed anything else and still never heard back. Any thoughts on talking to another recruiter? Anyone know when selections are for flight nursing? Thanks

I heard the boards got pushed back to first/second week of January. My recruiter says we will find out end of January. I'm applying for OR nursing. Good luck!

That's awesome you're applying. Hope you get selected looks like you got some great certs! I got selected in October but I think they do selections again in January. Good luck!

Hey everyone- I just recently separated from the AF after six years. Was a Capt and did med Surg, deployed, and then spent almost 5 years in the ED. Feel free to ask questions.
