I finally got accepted in to Nursing School!!

I have been appling for 2 years and all this time I have been hoping that there would be a light at the end of the tunnel.

Now it seems that I have finally received my good Karma.

I just wanted to say to those that were not accepted for the following semester, please remember that patience may be painful but good things do happen !

Congratulations!! Please keep us posted on how things go in nursing school.

Congratulations, you deserve it!!! You're really inspiring...I just sent in my first app. to a nursing program and I know it may be a while before I get that acceptance letter, but you went through the struggle with a lot of positive energy and came out on top...hopefully I can do the same!:D Where will you be going to school?

Thank you so much!

I will say that the journey was very difficult at times. I struggled with motivation and I would slip into some periods where I was very depressed. What really kept me going was the thought that if I didn't apply, I couldn't win. Every day that went by was 1 day closer to getting that acceptance letter!

I also stayed motivated by tutoring Anatomy and Physiology students and taking classes that would really help me gain additional skills so when I was in the program I would have that additional knowledge.

Please don't give up! It may not be easy, but just think if it was... wouldn't everyone want to be in nursing!

If you ever need some support, or you are having a hard time staying motivated, send me a message! I will be more that happy to help.

Helping people is my passion in any way I can!:heartbeat

Truly inspirational, thanks for posting your story. I too have been waiting 2 years and I am hopeful that this year is my year. I have to wait until July to hear anything but I hope and I pray that in July I will be commenting in this post with good news. Keeps your toes, fingers, and eyes crossed for me. LOL. Good luck with everything!!!!!:yeah:

Congrats to you! I have been trying for 2 years also. You can really tell that you have the passion to become a nurse!

thats awesome you got in! congratulations! i can't believe you actually waited 2 years to get in!!!! :bowingpur i don't think i have that kind of patience. i've thought about the prospect of long, ridiculous wait lists at the schools of my preference, but i would have to move somewhere else. i'm going through a serious mid-twenties life crisis and i know i'd go crazy at the thought of not starting for 2 years then not being finished for another two!? then another year for my masters?? my little purple smiley man up there says it all girl.

GREAT ! Congrats...I got Accepted into an LPN program, but I'm waiting to hear back from 2 RN programs...my stomach has been in knots for a month and a half.

I went trough the same thing! When I was 23 I had to make the decision to stay on my current path in business communications or pursue a new career that had more potential. I have to say that it was a hard time for me but I can also say that it was the best thing I ever did. From there I finished up the pre-req's and then started to apply. I knew that I could be up for a wait... I didn't want it to be 2 years but I knew that if I was persistent, I would be able to see the reward. Each semester that went by was hard I won't lie. I stayed enrolled in classes that were related to my major, I also tutored Anatomy and Phys students. It helped me stay involved with the material. I too want to continue on to get the NP. It will be a step by step process, I know it will not be overnight. I am not afraid to be in my 40's going to UC Davis to get the NP. There are so many valuable lessons that I will get to learn by working as an RN first. It will help me in the long run I just know it!

My advice would be to just apply everywhere you can, try not to put all your eggs in the same basket. You can always say no if you get in and are unable to find a reasonable way of making it work. It may seem far away but in reality it is more about the journey and the lessons you will learn on the way.
