You will find lots of tips in the student forums- in fact, there's even an entire forum dedicated to study tips! You can access these forums by clicking on the students tab in the yellow bar at the top of the screen on the desktop site or in the grey menu at the bottom of the mobile website.

First, I would like to say to you "congratulations on a wonderful job getting into nursing school." I know that is a hard task and you did a great job passing your entrance exam. I know that the entrance exam is a hard test to pass because I had to take it before. The key things into doing well in nursing school are the following: 1. Read early your chapter readings. 2. Prioritize your day. 3. Make a calendar and a priority list of all of the things that you need to do in a day. 4. Study early for tests and quizzes. 5. Make flashcards for vocabulary words. 6. Highlight words in the textbook that you do not understand. 7. Eat balanced meals and get plenty of sleep. 8. Reward yourself for a good job in big and small ways. I hope these tips have helped you. Good luck in the fall.

hi, here are tips before school starts: try to get the syllabus now. try to meet a student who graduated and get some tips now like how does the teacher test from lecture, book, both, etc. the exam prep is number one. during school here are some tips: prepare ahead before each lecture always. create a chapter reading schedule beginning of the week. very important. best tips I can give you are learn about test taking strategies on how to take nclex questions as well as test taking strategies on how to take true/false exams. pay attention to the organization structure of each textbook. its usually in a nursing process format. ask the teacher how you should read the book and take notes best. your teacher is your best friend. talk to them all the time. yes improve on your listening skills for lecture.

look into some apps to take notes quick or make flashcards....technology is here for you to save time for studying so use it :)

on this break learn a lot about time management for nursing students.

Great job. Have a bit of a breather now and gather books and supplies as you have the list. Download some nursing apps esp the nclex apps onto your phone they will be very helpful during school to prepare you for your exams. it is helpful to go over as much questions as time permits before test day. I do recommend the success books by Davis, there are so many titles like med surg, Peds, etc.

Figure out quickly after you start if you need to change how you study. I had to change from how I used to study.

Don't stress yourself out. school can be stressful but totally manageable. Just take it one week at time, figure out what needs to be done and do it!

I would ask if you can record your lectures. That helped me tremendously. I would record and really listen in class then the next day I would relisten to the lecture along with the PowerPoint and take notes.

Also, READ YOUR BOOKS! You're going to have a lot of people saying you don't need too, but trust me, if you can go into class prepared, it will help you!
