Hey guys, does anyone have any suggestions on books that helped them throughout nursing school. My buddy just gave me a nursing diagnosis book that she used and found really helpful. What about a care plans book or an NCLEX review book?

The Davis Q&A Series Success books are a great resource. They have them for Fundamentals, Peds, MedSurg, etc. They are pretty cheap and let you practice and get use to the type of questions that will be asked on the tests.

The Davis Q and A series is great. I just have the Test Success one, but have spent hours in Barnes and Noble looking at the others and they are so good at getting me to think for the test questions. Also, both the ____ Made Incredibly Easy series and ___ Facts Made Incredibly Easy series (published by Wolters Kluwer) have been helpful supplemental materials. As I am on the cardiac floor for clinical this semester, having some resources specific to cardiovascular nursing and ECGs has been helpful in adapting to the speficity of the floor. There is a lot for free online as well. Slideshare even has some textbooks for pharmacology, careplans, etc., that are only a few years old.

I had enough reading as it was in nursing school, but I heard good things from classmates about using Saunders NCLEX Review books during school.

Triple ditto on the Davis Q&A Series Success books. Also Lippincott Q&A for the NCLEX has been very helpful (medsurg 1, 2, and hopefully for upcoming advanced medsurg). I do use Saunder's here and there (i.e. oncology). I also find the printed ATI books (you can get them very cheep - used -- on amazon) to be helpful as well.
