I wanted to start a thread for those of you who have or will apply to ADN programs for the Fall 2011 semester. I have started the process but I have completed my application yet. I am nervous and super stressed. Join this thread so we can vent together. Share our journeys into nursing school.
I got a letter from my first choice school today. My daughter brought the mail in, but didnt tell me. How could she not care?? LOL It was nothing. I have never registered for classes at that school, so they made me inactive. I dont understand why, you have to be admitted to apply to nursing. Not going to think about it.

So does that mean you don't qualify for their program?
The nervous energy buzzing in this thread is SO where I'm at right now it's not even funny. I applied to two programs last month. I was told we would hear by March for both those, although I spoke with a friend and he said he was told he would hear by May. Waiting for March is already killing me. How on earth is anyone going to wait for May? I will be calling the office Tuesday to get some clarification on that.
I will also be applying to three more programs in the coming weeks. I am usually a patient person, but after hustling through the prereqs (while juggling being a new mom -- I was still pumping breast milk the semester I took Anatomy and Microbiology...AT THE SAME TIME -- and working, becoming a single mom, moving to my own place with the baby and experiencing the joys of what we are now calling toddlerhood) I want some answers like yesterday. I'm so anxious. I just want this so very badly I can't even imagine not getting in somewhere. The devastation is too much to even consider right now.
Good luck every one! This thread was just what I needed right on time.
I am nervous about how the household will fall apart and I will feel overwhelmed to do everything in addition to studying. I plan on filling up the freezer with meals this summer, and may convince my husband it is worth hiring a cleaning lady to come at least twice per month.
I hired someone to cut my grass last year. It was worth it.
This is a wonderful Thread. I have applied to a community college in Texas and waiting to hear back! I have just realized however that I forgot to "Apply" to the SCHOOL ! I'm so dissapointed and nervous. Does anyone know of someone with a similar circumstance? Wondering if this will outright ruin my chances.
BTW I like the idea of freezing meals !!! I have a large family and we pick up a Stouffers Family Dinner when our schedules get hectic. I imagine preparing and freezing your own would be more cost effective.
I just bought this book I love it.
BTW Some Borders bookstores are closing? I went to one last night 20-40% off I got a few nursing school books.

HEY VannVann
My college acceps on a point system/lottery. I hear this year they are accepting 100 people total. 60 by ranking, and 40 by lottery.
50% - GPA (at least 3.0)
25% - Grade in API (at least C+)
25% - TEAS (which must be at least 65%)
60 ppl are accepted by the above score, and 40 ppl are accepted on a lottery, random pool. (Which really sucks for those of us who dont get accepted and have higher grades then those who get accepted by lottery but hey)
Anyway, good luck and GREAT THREAD!!
