Accepted!!

Got my acceptance letter for the LPN/EMT to RN bridge program from Hutchinson CC in KS!! Very excited to be going back. I also got my CNA and LPN through this school and have been very happy with it. Now to figure out how to juggle FT work and FT school for the next year. Kinda intimidated! But it'll be so worth it. :)

I took mine from Barton online amd had no problems transferring it

Thanks for the recommendations. I'm just finishing my Micro from Portage Learning through Geneva College but they told me they won't accept any courses through them. I'm pretty bummed knowing I'll have to retake it so I wanted to find somewhere else where I know they've previously accepted it before.

You may want to check before enrolling in another institution, with NC-SARA (credit transferability across states) you should be able to find one that will work. We service students across the US and internationally with their credit transferability concerns and with a quick check, you should be set with the right one, next time.

Mine was online and it was through New Mexico Junior College.  Online with online lab and accepted by Hutch.  Nothing shows any different on the transcript from in person ones. NMJC uses Canvas which is the same as Hutch, so that’s nice and the price is really low. I highly recommend them.

ThomasP, what was it like through NMJC? it looks the most affordable. Was everything completely online? Or labs done at home?

I took my science courses and they credited. I the only pre reqs that I'm missing is Pathophysiology because not a lot of schools here in CA offer that. Also, getting in to nursing school in CA is ridiculous.  I am just waiting for the info when do they allow students to take Kaplan Exam

You took your sciences with Nmjc?? If you did how were they? I’m planning on applying this Summer but it already seems pretty competitive, what are you doing about studying for the Kaplan? I think that’s my biggest worry!! Trying to score high on that!

We offer Pathophysiology for Summer and Fall online, if that would be of interest? Lots of nurses take our accredited courses to help them with their goals. ?

No, I didn't take my science classes at NMJC. I took it at our local CC here. I am not sure if Kaplan  tests like TEAS. Im still researching too

Don't waste your money on the Kaplan study book. The only part in it that was a little bit helpful was the Reading Comprehension, but you can find the same basic thing online. I honestly found Kaplan, TEAS, and HESI test preps online and just studied with those.

You do have 2 chances to take the Kaplan. I didn't do very well the first time I took it, but the 2nd time I knew what to expect and did much much better.

Hey all,

I am planning to apply to the program for 2022 start date as well. I’m currently trying to set up a date to take the Kaplan Exam. Nervous about that because I don’t know what to expect. Good luck to everyone!

How did your exam go? I’m taking mine this week. That many applicants sure is discouraging. Does anyone know how Hutch uses their scoring rubric?

I took it without studying and didn’t do very well. I passed everything except the math but didn’t get high scores. I’m planning to retake it some time this month.
